Description

Zy Q 200 mg Tablet is an antimalarial medication. It is used to treat or prevent malaria (an illness caused by parasites that spread through the bite of infected mosquitoes).

Zy Q 200 mg Tablet is also used for the treatment of rheumatoid arthritis (a chronic condition that involves swelling and pain in the small joint) and systemic lupus erythematosus (a chronic inflammatory condition that occurs when your immune system attacks the body causing skin rash, joint pain, and tiredness).

Zy Q 200 mg Tablet shows some side effects like headache, nausea, vomiting, loss of appetite, diarrhoea, stomach pain, etc. These side effects may subside by themselves. However, consult your doctor if they bother you for a long time or worsen.

Zy Q 200 mg Tablet is a prescription medicine. Take this medicine with food to avoid stomach upset. Your doctor may determine the dose and duration of treatment based on your clinical condition. Systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) is an autoimmune disorder where your immune system attacks its healthy tissue. It can affect the skin, joints, kidneys, brain, and other organs. Zy Q 200 mg Tablet is used for the treatment of Systemic Lupus Erythematosus.
Malaria
Malaria is an illness caused by the bite of an infected mosquito. The symptoms include high fever, chills, a feeling of discomfort, vomiting, muscle pain, etc. Zy Q 200 mg Tablet is used to treat or prevent malaria. It is not effective against all strains of malaria, or against malaria in areas where the infection has been resistant to a similar medicine called Chloroquine.

When not to use?

Allergy

Zy Q 200 mg Tablet is not recommended for use if you have pre-existing maculopathy as it may further worsen your condition.

Breast-feeding

Hearing problem

This deficiency may cause the red blood cells to break down prematurely. Zy Q 200 mg Tablet should be used with caution if you have G-6-PD deficiency as it may cause further destruction of red blood cells and kidney problems. Your doctor may suggest tests to monitor your blood cell counts and haemoglobin levels periodically during treatment with this medicine.

Dosage

Missed Dose
Avoid missing a scheduled dose of Zy Q 200 mg Tablet. If you miss a dose, take it as soon as you remember. However, if it is time for your next dose, skip the missed dose. Do not double your dose to make up for the missed one.
Overdose
Do not take more than the prescribed dose of Zy Q 200 mg Tablet. Seek immediate medical attention in case of an overdose.
