Pantodac-IT Capsule (Pantoprazole 40mg)/ Itopride 150mg)

Pantodac IT Capsule 10’s is a combination medicine used to lower the increased level of stomach acid. It treats GERD (gastro-oesophagal reflux disease), and peptic ulcers. Gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) occurs when stomach acid frequently flows back into the food pipe (oesophagus). Peptic ulcers are sores that develop on the inner lining of the intestine and stomach.

Pantodac IT Capsule 10’s is a combination of two drugs, namely: Pantoprazole and Itopride. Pantoprazole works by blocking the action of an enzyme called gastric proton pump, which is responsible for the production of acid. Itopride works by accelerating the gastric emptying, improves gastric sensitivity and tension. It also has anti-emetic action. Together, Pantodac IT Capsule 10’s helps in preventing acid reflux, thereby provides relief from acidity.

Take Pantodac IT Capsule 10’s 30-60 minutes before food. Do not chew, or break the tablet; swallow it as a whole with a glass of water. You are advised to take Pantodac IT Capsule 10’s for as long as your doctor has prescribed it for you depending on your medical condition. In some cases, you may experience certain common side-effects such as headache, nausea, stomach pain, dizziness and diarrhoea. Most of these side-effects do not require medical attention and will resolve gradually over time. However, you are advised to talk to your doctor if you experience these side-effects persistently.

Inform your doctor before taking Pantodac IT Capsule 10’s if you have a history of gastrointestinal bleeding, mechanical perforation/obstruction, or movement disorder. On long term treatment, Pantodac IT Capsule 10’s may cause osteoporosis. Pantodac IT Capsule 10’s may also cause hypomagnesemia (low levels of magnesium). Do not take Pantodac IT Capsule 10’s if you are pregnant or breastfeeding unless prescribed by the doctor. Pantodac IT Capsule 10’s causes drowsiness, so drive only if you are alert. Pantodac IT Capsule 10’s should not be given to children as the safety have not been established. Avoid consuming alcohol along with Pantodac IT Capsule 10’s as it could lead to increased drowsiness and can elevate the production of stomach acid. Keep your doctor informed about all the medicines and your health condition to rule out any side-effects.

Store in a cool and dry place away from sunlight

Like all medicines, Pantodac IT Capsule 10’s can also cause side-effects, although not everybody experiences them. Headache, nausea, stomach pain, dizziness and diarrhoea are the common side-effects of Pantodac IT Capsule 10’s. Talk to your doctor if you experience any of these side-effects persistently.
