Medical Description

Ebast-DC is an antiallergic medicine used to cure symptoms like sneezing, runny nose, throat infection, stuffy nose, nasal congestion or other symptoms of allergic rhinitis. It has two active components ebastine and phenylephrine. Take this medicine only when prescribed by the doctor and adhere to the recommended dosage and duration. You should inform your doctor about all the medicines, herbs and supplements you take and all the medical conditions or diseases you suffer from. You may have mild side effects also like headache, drowsiness, dry mouth, but these are temporary symptoms that usually disappear on their own. Never recommend your medicines to another person even if they have symptoms as you do.

Contraindications of Ebast Dc Tablet

If you are allergic to the Ebast-DC or any of the ingredients of this medicine.
If you have a prostate or bladder related problem.
If you have a tumour in the adrenal gland.
If you are suffering from certain health conditions like diabetes, high blood pressure, high pressure inside the eyes (glaucoma) or overactive thyroid.
If you have any kind of heart-related problems.
If you have recently taken or taking medicines for brain-related disorders.

Other General Warnings

Talk to your doctor if
You are suffering from a condition in which some areas of the body feel numb and cool in certain circumstances (called Raynaud’s Phenomenon), as caution is needed in such a condition.
Your experience persistent symptoms, even after taking the medicines.
You are suffering from a severe liver problem.
It should not be given to children below 12 years old.
Caution is advised if you are already taking certain antibiotics to treat fungal infections.

Mode of Action of Ebast Dc Tablet

How Does It Work?
Phenylephrine acts by constricting the blood vessels around the nose and thus reduces swelling. This helps in clearing the blocked nose and gives relief in nasal discomfort due to cold or allergies.
Ebastine works by inhibiting the action of histamine, a natural substance produced by the body during an allergic reaction and improves allergic symptoms like watery eyes, throat irritation, sneezing, nasal congestion. The combined action of these two components helps in relieving nasal discomfort, sinus congestion and pressure and other symptoms of allergic rhinitis.

Directions for Use of Ebast Dc Tablet

Take this medicine as directed by your doctor.
It can be taken with or without food.
Do not change your dose on your own and follow the recommended dosage.
Never stop the medicine on your own.

Interactions of Ebast Dc Tablet

Interactions with other medicines
Some medicines can affect the action of the Ebast-DC or the Ebast-DC itself can reduce the effectiveness of other medicines taken at the same time.
Tell your doctor about all the medicines, supplements or herbals you are currently taking or might take to avoid any possible interaction.
Especially, if you are taking medicines to treat bain related disorders, decongestants, antihypertensive medicines, antibiotics, antituberculosis medicines.

Storage and disposal of Ebast Dc Tablet

It does not require any special storage conditions.
Store it in original packing to protect it from light.
Try to keep it out of the reach of children.
Do not take this medicine after the expiry date which is mentioned on the medicine.

Dosage of Ebast Dc Tablet

Overdose
If you think you have taken too much of this medicine and experience any symptoms or side effects, contact your doctor immediately or visit the nearest hospital.
Missed a Dose
If you have missed taking any dose of this medicine take it as soon as you remember. If it’s time for your next dose then skip the missed dose and continue with your regular dose schedule. Do not take a double dose of medicine to compensate for the missed one.
