Medical Description

Mucinac Inj 2ml contains Acetylcysteine. It is used in case of an overdose of paracetamol. Paracetamol overdose can cause severe damage to the liver. This medicine helps in counteracting against the excessive dose of Paracetamol reduces the complications associated with the overdose. This medicine is injected by a nurse or a doctor. The usage of this medicine in pregnant women and lactating mothers will be decided by the doctor.

Other General Warnings

Talk to your doctor if

You have any history of intolerance to histamine, you should avoid long term treatment.

How Does It Work?
Mucinac Inj 2ml contains acetylcysteine. It reduces the effects of excessive paracetamol on the liver. It acts on the chemical substances are bi-products of paracetamol which cause liver toxicity and inactivates them. It also acts on enzymes that convert paracetamol into toxic chemical components thereby reducing all the complications associated with the paracetamol overdose.

This medicine will be injected by a registered health practitioner or a nurse.
The patient will be under medical supervision.
Do not self inject.

Storage and disposal of Mucinac 20 %W/V

It should be stored between 2°C – 8°C. A pre-filled syringe should be stored at temperatures below 25°C for a period of up to 14 days. Do not let it freeze. Keep it in the original container in order to protect it from sunlight.

Overdose
