Broclear Tablet

Broclear Tablet is a combination medicine that consists of Acebrophylline and Acetylcysteine. It is used in the treatment of respiratory conditions like bronchitis (irritation and swelling of the airways of your lungs), asthma (breathing issues due to swelling and narrowing of the windpipe) and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (lung disorders due to obstruction of airflow to your lungs) in adults. It works by relaxing the muscles of your air passages thereby making it easier to breathe.

Broclear Tablet shows some common side effects like heartburn, fever, nausea, vomiting, rash, irritation and swelling of the nasal passages (pathway from the nose to throat). Consult your doctor if any of these side effects do not resolve or worsen. Avoid taking this medicine if you are allergic to it.

Broclear Tablet can be taken with or without food. Your doctor will decide the dose and duration of this medicine based on the type and severity of your medical condition. Take this medicine as directed by your doctor. Do not stop taking this medicine without consulting your doctor as this could lead to worsening your condition.

Broclear Tablet should be used with caution if you have asthma as it may worsen your condition. Inform your doctor of your entire medical history, including medical conditions like liver, kidney, or heart problems before taking this medicine to ensure the safety of this medicine.

What is it prescribed for?
Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease
Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease is a lung condition in which there is an obstruction to the flow of air to your lungs. It may result in abnormal mucous secretion, shortness of breath, chest congestion and other symptoms associated with thickened mucous secretion. Broclear Tablet used to relieve shortness of breath, wheezing, cough and other symptoms associated with Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease.
Bronchitis
Bronchitis is the swelling of the lining of your bronchial tubes, which carry air to and from the lungs. Broclear Tablet used to provide relief from the cough, shortness of breath, chest discomfort, fatigue, change in mucus colour associated with bronchitis.
Emphysema
Emphysema is a condition associated with damage to the walls of your air sacs in the lungs. Broclear Tablet used in the treatment of emphysema which is characterized by cough, wheezing, chest tightness, difficulty in breathing etc.
Asthma
Asthma is a condition in which your airways narrow and swell and may produce extra mucus. Broclear Tablet is used to treat irritation, blockage, and swelling of airways associated with chronic and acute forms of asthma.

When not to use?

Allergy
Avoid using Broclear Tablet if you are allergic to it. Seek immediate medical attention if you notice any symptoms such as skin rash, itching/swelling (especially of the face/tongue/throat), severe dizziness, breathing difficulty, etc.
Acute myocardial infarction
Myocardial Infarction is a type of heart condition caused due to reduced blood flow to your heart muscle which reduces its activity. Broclear Tablet is not recommended for use if you had a heart attack recently due to the increased risk of worsening your condition.
Essential hypertension
Hypertension or high blood pressure is a condition where your blood pressure is very high. This can cause heart and blood vessel damage which can result in serious heart conditions like a heart attack or stroke. Broclear Tablet is not recommended for use if you have hypertension due to the increased risk of worsening your condition.

Dosage

Missed Dose
Take the missed dose of Broclear Tablet as soon as you remember. If it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose. Do not double your dose to make up for the missed one.
Overdose
Do not take more than the prescribed dose of Broclear Tablet. Consult your doctor if you suspect that you might have taken an overdose of this medicine.

General Instructions

Take Broclear Tablet as advised by your doctor. It is a once-daily medication.

Do not take in more or fewer doses than prescribed. Consult your doctor if you experience any undesirable effects after taking it.

You should not use this medicine instead of an inhaler for an asthma attack as it is a slow-acting preventative medicine.

Your doctor may suggest regular blood tests to monitor your potassium levels. Complete the treatment and do not discontinue using this medicine without consulting your doctor.

Avoid smoking and consuming caffeinated products as it may decrease the efficacy of this medicine.
