USES OF POTRATE 10MG TABLET
Used to manage:
- Renal tubular acidosis (accumulation of acids due to decreased kidney functions) with calcium stones
- Hypocitraturic calcium oxalate nephrolithiasis (calcium oxalate stones) of any cause
- Uric acid lithiasis (uric acid stone formation) with or without calcium stones
HOW POTRATE 10MG TABLET WORKS
POTRATE 10MG TABLET works by increasing urinary PH (alkaline) and raises urinary citrate by stopping its clearance. It also increases the urinary potassium and also reduces urinary calcium levels in some patients. Thus the changes induced by POTRATE 10MG TABLET produces urine that is less prone to formation of stones (calcium oxalate, calcium phosphate and uric acid). POTRATE 10MG TABLET also decreases calcium ion concentration by forming complex and the rise in urinary pH also increases the ionization of uric acid to the more soluble urate ion.
DIRECTIONS FOR USE
Take POTRATE 10MG TABLET as advised by your doctor. Do not crush or chew the medicine while consuming it with water.
Your doctor will decide the correct dosage and duration for you depending upon your age, body weight and disease condition.
