About Ziblok 25 Tablet

ZIBLOK 25MG TABLET belongs to a group of heart disease-related medicines known as beta-blockers. It helps in the treatment of high blood pressure (hypertension), irregular heartbeats (arrhythmias), chest pain with painful tightness in the chest (angina pectoris), and protects the heart in the early treatment after a heart attack (myocardial infarction). High blood pressure increases the heart’s workload, and if it continues for a long time, the heart and blood vessels (arteries) may not function properly. It can damage the arteries of the brain, heart, and kidneys, resulting in a stroke, heart failure, or kidney failure. However, lowering blood pressure may reduce the risk of stroke and heart attacks.

ZIBLOK 25MG TABLET contains atenolol, which primarily helps relax our blood vessels by blocking the action of certain natural substances in your body. Thus, ZIBLOK 25MG TABLET helps lower your raised blood pressure and reduce the risk of having a stroke, a heart attack, other heart problems, or kidney problems in the future.

You can take ZIBLOK 25MG TABLET with food or before/after a meal. Your doctor will advise you how often you take your tablets based on your medical condition. In some cases, you may experience headaches, cold hands/feet, diarrhoea, feeling sick (nausea), feeling tired, aching and tired muscles, depressed mood, and dizziness. Most of these side effects of ZIBLOK 25MG TABLET do not require medical attention and gradually resolve over time. However, if the side effects are persistent, reach out to your doctor.

Try not to stop taking this medicine of your own as it may raise your blood pressure and increase the chance of having a heart attack. Inform your doctor if you are suffering from any kidney or liver, heart disease, or diabetes. If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, please tell your doctor to prescribe the dosage of ZIBLOK 25MG TABLET accordingly. It should not be given to children less than 12 years of age. Tell your doctor that you are using ZIBLOK 25MG TABLET before undergoing any planned surgery. Your doctor might advise you to stop using ZIBLOK 25MG TABLET due to the increased risk of low blood pressure (hypotension) with anaesthesia.

Do not use ZIBLOK 25MG TABLET if you have a cardiogenic shock (sudden stopping of blood flow to the heart). Please tell your doctor if you are taking any other medicines or are allergic to this medicine. You should not take ZIBLOK 25MG TABLET or consult a doctor if you have asthma, wheezing or any other breathing problems, allergic reactions (like insect stings), chest pain (prinzmetal’s angina), poor blood circulation, first stage heart block, diabetes, fast heart beating, thyrotoxicosis (overactive thyroid gland), kidney failure. ZIBLOK 25MG TABLET may mask some of the symptoms of low blood sugar (hypoglycaemia) and overactive thyroid (hyperthyroidism), so regular blood sugar level and thyroid profile monitoring is required.

Directions for Use

Drug Warnings

Don’t stop taking $ name without talking to your doctor first. Stopping ZIBLOK 25MG TABLET gradually may cause changes in your heart rhythm and blood pressure, cause chest pain or a heart attack. Your doctor will lower your dose gradually over a period of time to help prevent these symptoms. You should not use ZIBLOK 25MG TABLET if you have a very slow heartbeat, asthma, serious heart condition (sick sinus syndrome), or any heart blockage. It should not be given to children less than 12 years of age. Before taking ZIBLOK 25MG TABLET, you should tell the doctor if you have any muscle disorder (myasthenia gravis, rhabdomyolysis), breathing problem (COPD, bronchitis, emphysema), low blood sugar level (hypoglycaemia), low blood pressure (hypotension), depression, previous heart failure, liver/kidney disease, thyroid hormone disorder, adrenal gland cancer, or problems with circulation (Raynaud’s syndrome).

Drug Interactions

Drug-Drug Interactions: ZIBLOK 25MG TABLET is known to interact with other blood pressure-lowering drugs (acebutolol, bisoprolol, carteolol, esmolol, metoprolol, nadolol, nebivolol, sotalol, lisinopril, enalapril, diltiazem, prazosin, terazosin, doxazosin), asthma medications (like theophylline), pain killers (ibuprofen, indomethacin), insulin, and heart-related medicines (disopyramide, quinidine, amiodarone, digoxin, adrenaline, epinephrine).

Drug-Food Interactions: ZIBLOK 25MG TABLET severely interact with grapefruit and rich protein foods. Hence it should not be taken with ZIBLOK 25MG TABLET. Using ZIBLOK 25MG TABLET together with multivitamins/minerals may decrease the effects of ZIBLOK 25MG TABLET. If it is necessary to take, you should maintain at least 2 hours time period between the administration of ZIBLOK 25MG TABLET and multivitamins/minerals.

Drug-Disease Interactions: ZIBLOK 25MG TABLET should not be given to people with diabetes, asthma, cardiogenic shock (when the heart fails to pump required blood to the body), heart valve problem (stenosis), low blood pressure (hypotension), coronary heart disease, liver disease or heart failure.
