About Zycel 100mg Capsule 10’s
Zycel 100mg Capsule 10’s contains ‘pain killers,’ primarily used to reduce pain and swelling in muscles and joints. It treats painful conditions of osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, ankylosing spondylitis (pain and stiffness in the backbone), cervical spondylitis (wear and tear of spinal discs in neck), menstrual pain. Arthritis is a condition that causes swelling of one or more joints resulting in pain and stiffness of joints that worsen over time.
Zycel 100mg Capsule 10’s contains Celecoxib, which works by blocking cyclo-oxygenase (COX) enzyme, responsible for causing pain and inflammation in the body. Thereby, it helps relieve pain and swelling associated with different types of arthritis, spondylitis, low back pain, menstrual pain.
Take Zycel 100mg Capsule 10’s preferably with or after food and swallow whole with little water. Do not crush, chew, or break it. Your doctor will advise you how often you take your tablets based on your medical condition. In some cases, you may experience indigestion, stomach pain, diarrhoea, oedema, flatulence. Most of these side effects of Zycel 100 Capsule 10’s do not require medical attention and gradually resolve over time. However, if the side effects persist or worsen, please consult your doctor.
If you are known to be allergic to Zycel 100mg Capsule 10’s or any other medicines, please tell your doctor. Do not take Zycel 100 Capsule 10’s if you are allergic to any of its ingredients. Zycel 100 Capsule 10’s may cause an increased risk of severe heart problems like myocardial infarction and stroke, which can be fatal. It should not be used by the patient who has had undergone recent heart bypass surgery or will have it. Zycel 100 Capsule 10’s increases the risk of severe gastrointestinal conditions like bleeding, ulceration and perforation of the stomach or intestines, which can be fatal. Elderly patients are at greater risk for gastrointestinal bleeding problems so that the doctor can limit their dose. Zycel 100 Capsule 10’s is not recommended for pregnant women, especially in the third trimester as it may cause harm the unborn baby (fetus). Therefore, pregnant or breastfeeding women are advised to consult a doctor before taking Zycel 100 Capsule 10’s. Do not consume alcohol with Zycel 100 Capsule 10’s as it may increase the risk of stomach bleeding or ulcer. If you experience weight loss, diarrhoea, pain or vomiting, please stop taking Zycel 100 Capsule 10’s and consult a doctor immediately. These might be signs of worsening or Crohn’s disease or ulcerative colitis (swelling in the digestive tract).
Drug Interactions
Drug-Disease Interaction: People with diabetes, stomach ulcer, gastrointestinal bleeding, asthma, kidney, liver or heart problems and an autoimmune condition, such as systemic lupus erythematosus (joint pain, fever and skin rashes), colitis or Crohn’s disease (conditions causing swelling of the bowel, diarrhea, bowel pain, vomiting and weight loss) should consult a doctor before taking Zycel 100 Capsule 10’s.
Drug- Food Interaction: Zycel 100 Capsule 10’s may interact with alcohol. Therefore, avoid alcohol intake while taking Zycel 100 Capsule 10’s as it may increase the risk of stomach bleeding.
Drug-Drug Interaction: Zycel 100 Capsule 10’s may have interaction with pain killers (ibuprofen, diclofenac, paracetamol, aspirin), high blood pressure-lowering medicines (propranolol, enalapril, losartan, candesartan), water pills (furosemide), blood thinners (heparin, warfarin, clopidogrel), fits related medicines (phenytoin), antidiabetic drugs (glimepiride, glipizide), antibiotics (moxifloxacin, ciprofloxacin), HIV/AIDS medicines (Zidovudine), Immuno-suppressants medicines (cyclosporine), cardiac drugs (digoxin), psychiatric medication (lithium).
