Zedott 100mg Capsule (Racecadotril 100mg)

Medical Description

Zedott 100 capsule is used for the treatment of sudden diarrhoea which lasts for less than 2 weeks (acute diarrhoea). It contains racecadotril as its active component. It acts on the gastrointestinal tract and reduces secretions. This results in controlling diarrhoea. This medicine is not meant to be used for diarrhoea associated with antibiotic use. Zedott 100 capsule should not be used for more than 7 days. If diarrhoea persists for more than 7 days, consult your doctor. This medicine should be taken as directed by the doctor and in doses and duration as prescribed. Before starting this medicine, inform the doctor if you are pregnant, planning a pregnancy or breastfeeding and about your detailed medical history.

Contraindications of Zedott 100 MG

If you are allergic to racecadotril or any of the ingredient of Zedott 100 capsule.

Talk to your doctor if

How Does It Work?
Zedott 100 capsule decreases the excessive secretion of water and electrolytes from the intestine in the lumen and thus helps in minimizing the number of motions and fluid loss through diarrhoea.

Directions for Use of Zedott 100 MG

Take Zedott 100 capsule as a whole with a sufficient amount of water preferably before the main meal.
You should take this medicine for the dose and duration it is prescribed by your doctor.
Do not take this medicine for more than 7 days.

Interactions of Zedott 100 MG

Interactions with other medicines
The concomitant use of Zedott 100 capsule and antihypertensive medicines like captopril, enalapril, lisinopril should be avoided as they can interfere with the activity of each other.
Discuss with your doctor any other medicine, supplement or herbal preparation you are taking before starting the treatment with Zedott 100 capsule.

Storage and disposal of Zedott 100 MG

Store Zedott 100 mg capsules at room temperature in a cool and dry place.
Keep this medicine out of the sight of children and pets.
Try to keep it in the original packing to protect it from moisture.

Dosage of Zedott 100 MG

Overdose
If you think you have taken too much of Zedott 100 capsule and you experience undesirable effects, contact your doctor immediately or visit the nearest hospital.
Missed a Dose
If you missed any dose of this medicine take it as soon as you remember. If it’s time for your next dose then skip the missed dose and continue with your regular dose schedule.
