Description

Nuroday 1500 MCG Tablet is a man-made form of Vitamin B12 which is important for nerve health, brain function, and red blood cell production. This medicine is mainly used to treat Vitamin B12 deficiency in people with anaemia and peripheral neuropathy (nerve pain in hands and feet). Nuroday 1500 MCG Tablet regulates certain vital bodily functions like cell multiplication, blood formation, and protein synthesis.

Nuroday 1500 MCG Tablet shows side effects like diarrhoea, headache, nausea, and vomiting. Inform your doctor if these side effects do not resolve with time or worsen. Avoid consumption of alcohol during treatment with Nuroday 1500 MCG Tablet as it may decrease the effect of this medicine.

Nuroday 1500 MCG Tablet can be taken with or without food. Your doctor will decide the dose and duration of treatment based on your health condition. Do not stop taking this medicine without consulting your doctor as your condition may become worse. Avoid taking this medicine with an antacid as it may delay the absorption of Nuroday 1500 MCG Tablet.

Peripheral Neuropathy
Peripheral neuropathy is the damage to the peripheral nerves that are present outside the brain and spinal cord. This nerve damage mostly occurs in your feet and hands resulting in weakness, numbness, and pain. There are several causes that can lead to peripheral neuropathy such as diabetes, injuries, and infections. Nuroday 1500 MCG Tablet is used in the treatment of peripheral neuropathy. This medicine helps in the production of myelin, a protective covering that surrounds the nerve fibres.
Megaloblastic Anaemia
Megaloblastic anaemia is a condition in which the bone marrow (a spongy substance found in the centre of the bones) produces abnormal and immature red blood cells. This condition mainly occurs due to a deficiency of either Vitamin B12 or folic acid in your body. Symptoms may include muscle weakness, diarrhoea, vision problems, etc. Nuroday 1500 MCG Tablet is used to treat anaemia due to deficiency of Vitamin B12. This medicine helps in the production of red blood cells.

When not to use?

Leber’s Disease
Leber’s disease is an eye condition in which the nerves in the eyes get damaged leading to loss of vision. Nuroday 1500 MCG Tablet is not recommended for use if you have Leber’s Disease as it may worsen your condition.
Allergy
Avoid taking Nuroday 1500 MCG Tablet if you are allergic to it. Serious allergic reactions to this medicine are rare. However, seek immediate medical attention if you notice any symptoms such as skin rash, itching/swelling (especially of the face/tongue/throat), severe dizziness, breathing difficulty, etc.

Warnings

Warnings for special population
Pregnancy
Nuroday 1500 MCG Tablet should not be used in pregnancy to treat anaemia unless it is vitamin B12 deficiency anaemia. However, it should only be used upon your doctor’s recommendation and after all the risks and benefits are discussed.
Breast-feeding
Nuroday 1500 MCG Tablet is not known to be harmful while breastfeeding. It passes into breastmilk at very low levels. Hence, it is acceptable for use upon your doctor’s recommendation if you are breastfeeding.
General warnings
Elderly
Elderly people may have a reduced capacity to absorb Nuroday 1500 MCG Tablet through the intestine. Hence, appropriate dose adjustments may be necessary based on the condition.
Other medicines
Combined use of Nuroday 1500 MCG Tablet with other medicines may decrease the effect of this medicine or cause undesired effects. Hence, inform your doctor about all your current medicines including any herbs and supplements before beginning treatment with this medicine.

If you recently have had gastrointestinal surgery, it may reduce the absorption of Nuroday 1500 MCG Tablet. Consult your doctor before taking this medicine.

Use of antacids
Combined use of antacids with this medicine may reduce the absorption of Nuroday 1500 MCG Tablet. Your doctor may advise you on the duration gap between these two medicines.

Dosage

Missed Dose
Take the missed dose of Nuroday 1500 MCG Tablet as soon as you remember. Skip the missed dose if it is time for the next scheduled dose. Do not double the dose to make up for the missed dose.
Overdose
Never take more than the prescribed dose of Nuroday 1500 MCG Tablet. Seek immediate medical attention in case of an overdose.
