About Cefi Dry Syrup 30 ml
Cefi Dry Syrup 30 ml is a cephalosporin-type antibiotic primarily taken to treat various types of bacterial infections of the ears, lungs, and urinary tract. Additionally, it is also prescribed to treat STDs (Sexually Transmitted Diseases). Infectious or harmful bacteria can make you sick and reproduce quickly in your body. These harmful bacteria produce chemicals known as toxins, which can damage tissue and make you sick.
Cefi Dry Syrup 30 ml kills the bacterial cell by blocking the chemical (mucopeptides) released by the outer layer (cell wall) of the bacteria. In turn, Cefi Dry Syrup 30 ml weakens and destroys the bacterial cell wall. It is a broad range of antibiotic that helps in fighting various types of bacteria. Cefi Dry Syrup 30 ml will not work for colds, flu, or other viral infections
Cefi Dry Syrup 30 ml should be taken as prescribed by your doctor, preferably with a meal to avoid stomach upset and at fixed intervals every day for best results. The dose of Cefi Dry Syrup 30 ml can vary depending upon your condition and severity of the infection. Also, it is recommended to complete the course of medicine even if you feel better as it is an antibiotic, and leaving it in between may lead to even severe infection that will in fact stop responding to the antibiotic as well (antibiotic resistance). Drug Warnings
Do not take Cefi Dry Syrup 30 ml if you are allergic to Cefi Dry Syrup 30 ml or other macrolide antibiotics. Hypersensitivity reactions including shock and fatalities have been reported with Cefi Dry Syrup 30 ml. Discontinue use if there is a reaction and reach out to your doctor immediately. Tell your doctor if you have liver problems (jaundice), muscle problem (myasthenia gravis), heart rhythm disorder (arrhythmia), electrolyte imbalance (low potassium or magnesium level). In rare case, use of Cefi Dry Syrup 30 ml can cause diarrhoea, so in case if you have watery or bloody diarrhoea, stop taking Cefi Dry Syrup 30 ml and call your doctor. However, do not take any anti-diarrheal medicine until your doctor tells you. It is not known whether Cefi Dry Syrup 30 ml harms the baby in pregnancy or not. Drug Interactions
Drug-Drug Interaction: Cefi Dry Syrup 30 ml may reduce the activity of the vaccines including cholera vaccine, live, typhoid vaccine, live and Bacillus Calmette-Guérin (is used in a solution to stimulate the immune system in the treatment of bladder cancer and as a vaccine to prevent tuberculosis). To ensure adequate vaccine response, you should not receive any above-mentioned vaccine, until at least 14 days after you complete your antibiotic therapy. Cefi Dry Syrup 30 ml can occasionally cause kidney problems, and using it with furosemide may increase that risk.
Drug-Food Interaction: Avoid taking eating high-fat meal as this makes it harder for your body to absorb Cefi Dry Syrup 30 ml. Eating grapefruit during antibiotics treatment can prevent the body from utilizing Cefi Dry Syrup 30 ml properly. So, prevent intake of grapefruit or grapefruit juice with the antibiotic. Avoid taking too much of calcium enriched foods and drinks as it might affect the working of Cefi Dry Syrup 30 ml.
Drug-Disease Interaction: People affected with diabetes mellitus, renal dysfunction, liver disease, seizure disorders, colitis (bowel disease that affects the large intestine, causing irritation, inflammation, and ulcers in the colon) should not take Cefi Dry Syrup 30 ml.
