Medical Description

Montair LC Kid syrup is an anti-allergic medicine. Montair LC kid is used for the treatment and management of allergic rhinitis symptoms such as runny & stuffy nose, blockage in airways, sneezing, itching, watery eyes and other allergic symptoms. This syrup contains a combination of montelukast and levocetirizine as its active ingredients. It works by blocking the production of chemicals responsible for producing symptoms of allergy. Montair LC Kid syrup is specially designed for children. Give this medicine at the prescribed dose and duration as advised by your child’s treating physician. Shake the bottle well before each use. Always use the measuring cup provided along with Montair LC Kid syrup.

Uses of Montair Lc Kid Syp 60ml

Montair LC Kid syrup is used for treating & preventing symptoms of allergic rhinitis (runny or itchy nose, sneezing, teary eyes, etc).

Contraindications of Montair Lc Kid Syp 60ml

If your child is allergic to levocetirizine, cetirizine, montelukast or any of the ingredients of Montair LC Kid syrup.
If your child has kidney problems.
If your child is unable to digest lactose and glucose (galactose intolerance).

Other General Warnings

Talk to your doctor if
Your child is taking medicines for allergies (corticosteroids) like Prednisone and Prednisolone.
Your child is already taking painkillers like aspirin as it can increase the risk of asthma.
Your child develops a rash or has difficulty breathing.
Your child is suffering from a genetic disorder called phenylketonuria.
Your child is not able to empty the bladder completely.
Montair LC Kid syrup is not meant for relief from acute asthma, use your inhaler for asthma relief in acute attack.

How Does It Work?
Montelukast blocks certain natural substances called leukotrienes which may cause allergies. It reduces swelling, relaxes airways and helps to make breathing easier.
Levocetirizine blocks histamine, a natural substance, which is produced by the body during allergic reactions.

Give Montair LC Kid syrup to your child as prescribed by the doctor, preferably after meals.

Interactions of Montair Lc Kid Syp 60ml

Interactions with other medicines
Montair LC Kid syrup contains levocetirizine and montelukast. Any interaction which is seen with any of these two components when taken alone may occur with this combination too.
Medicines like Rifampicin (used to treat tuberculosis), Phenytoin (used to treat fits or epilepsy), Phenobarbital (used to treat anxiety or sleeplessness; also called CNS depressants) should be used with caution along with Montair LC Kid syrup.
You should always tell the doctor if your child is taking any other medicines, herbal preparation and supplements to avoid any interaction.

Store Montair LC Kid syrup below 30°C.
Close the cap of the bottle properly after every use.

Dosage of Montair Lc Kid Syp 60ml

Overdose
Symptoms of overdose of Montair LC Kid syrup include drowsiness, restlessness, thirst, headache. In case of an overdose, contact the doctor immediately or visit the nearest hospital.
Missed a Dose
If you have missed giving a dose of Montair LC Kid syrup to your child, then give it as soon as you remember. If it’s already time for the next dose then skip the missed dose and follow the regular dosing schedule.
