Finalo Tablet (Finasteride 1mg)

INTRODUCTION

FINALO 1MG contains Finasteride which belongs to a group of medicines called type II 5-alpha reductase inhibitors. It is used for the treatment of androgenetic alopecia (male pattern hair loss). Androgenetic alopecia is characterized by thinning of the hair on the scalp, often resulting in a receding hairline and/or balding on the top of the head in men. This condition is caused due to the combination of genetic factors and DHT (dihydrotestosterone) hormone.

Finasteride works by lowering the levels of DHT in the scalp and thus helps in reversing the balding process which leads to an increased hair growth and prevention of further hair loss. It is only suitable for men with mild to moderate, but not complete hair loss.

The recommended dosage is 1 tablet per day or as directed by physician. This medicine can be taken with or without food. Your doctor will decide the correct dose for you depending upon your condition. Continue to take this medicine, as long as your doctor tells you to do so, to obtain better results. Talk to your doctor, before taking this medicine if you have any mood alterations and depression or infertility. This medicine is strictly not recommended for use in children.

HOW FINALO 1MG WORKS

Finasteride specifically inhibits an isozyme called Type II 5α-reductase present in the hair follicles, which is responsible for conversion of testosterone into 5α dihydrotestosterone (DHT). Inhibition of Type II 5α-reductase blocks the conversion of testosterone to DHT which results in decreased scalp DHT concentration, reduced serum DHT, increased hair regrowth and slows hair loss.

DIRECTIONS FOR USE
Always take this medicine as directed by your physician. The recommended dosage is 1 tablet per day. Your doctor will decide the correct dose for you depending upon your condition. Swallow the medicine as a whole with a glass of water. Do not crush or chew the medicine. Continue to take this medicine, as long as your doctor tells you to do so, to obtain better results.

SERIOUS
Allergic reaction (such as swelling of lips, face, tongue and throat, difficulty swallowing; lumps under your skin (hives) and breathing difficulties)
Depression
Symptoms of breast cancer (changes in breast tissue such as lumps, pain, enlargement or discharge from nipple)

Do not drive or operate any machines if your ability is affected by this medicine.

ALLERGY
Do not take this medicine if you are allergic (hypersensitive) to finasteride or similar medicines.

OTHERS
Before taking this medicine, inform your doctor if you:

Have mood alterations, depression or are undergoing a blood test called PSA (Prostate-Specific Antigen)
