Description

FEXONA TABLET is a combination medicine consisting of Montelukast and Fexofenadine. It is used to treat year-round symptoms of allergic rhinitis such as runny nose, watery eyes, sneezing, itching, etc. FEXONA TABLET stops the activity of the chemical substance that causes allergic symptoms.

FEXONA TABLET shows some common side effects like drowsiness, dizziness, rash, weakness, headache, etc. Consult your doctor if these symptoms persist for a long time. Avoid using this medicine if you are allergic to it. Do not use FEXONA TABLET in children below 12 years of age.

FEXONA TABLET can be taken with or without food. Your doctor will decide the dose based on your condition. Finish your entire course of treatment with FEXONA TABLET, even if the condition gets better by taking few doses. Consult your doctor if you still feel unwell after completing your treatment course.

FEXONA TABLET has to be taken with caution if you are pregnant or are breastfeeding. Inform your doctor if you have kidney or liver problems. Do not give your medicine to other people even if the symptoms appear similar. This medicine can cause dizziness and drowsiness. Avoid driving vehicles or operating machines while you are taking this tablet. Avoid consuming alcohol while taking this medicine as it can worsen drowsiness.

When not to use?

Allergy
Avoid taking FEXONA TABLET if you are allergic to it. Inform your doctor if there is any history of allergy to FEXONA TABLET. If you notice any symptoms such as skin rash, itching/swelling anywhere on your body, dizziness, breathing difficulty, etc., consult your doctor immediately.

Warnings

Warnings for special population
Pregnancy
Use of FEXONA TABLET should be avoided during pregnancy as it may cause serious undesirable effects on your foetus. Your physician may advise a safer alternative medicine with the same therapeutic effect based on your clinical condition.
Breast-feeding
FEXONA TABLET is safe to be used during breastfeeding. It appears in breast milk in a very small amount which is not known to harm your baby. However, it is advised to consult your doctor before taking this medicine.
General warnings
Systemic eosinophilia
Do not use FEXONA TABLET if you have a history of eosinophilia (a high level of white blood cells known as eosinophils in the blood), as it may worsen your allergic symptoms.
Behaviour and mood changes
FEXONA TABLET may cause changes in behaviour and mood. Symptoms such as agitation, irritability, anxiety, unusual dreams, depression, suicidal thoughts, etc., should be reported to your doctor immediately.
Use in children
Do not use FEXONA TABLET in children less than 12 years of age due to the lack of safety and efficacy data.
CNS depression
FEXONA TABLET may cause mild to moderate CNS depression resulting in sleepiness, difficulty in concentrating, etc.
Driving or operating machinery
FEXONA TABLET may cause dizziness. Do not drive vehicles or operate machines after taking this medicine.

Dosage

Missed Dose
Try not to forget the dose of FEXONA TABLET. If you forget to take a scheduled dose, take it immediately as soon as you remember. But, if it is time for your next dose, skip the missed dose. Do not take two doses to make up for the missed dose.
Overdose
Never take more than the prescribed dose. Overdose of FEXONA TABLET may cause symptoms like vomiting, thirst, headache, stomach pain, tiredness, dry mouth, drowsiness, dizziness and tiredness. Seek emergency medical treatment or contact your doctor in case you suspect an overdose of this medicine.

General Instructions

Take FEXONA TABLET with or without food. Avoid taking more doses than advised to get immediate relief. Do not stop taking the medicine before completing the treatment course.
