Esgipyrin-A Tablet

Esgipyrin-A Tablet is a combination of Diclofenac and Paracetamol. It is used to reduce pain due to various conditions such as headache, toothache, backache, menstrual pain, sprains, and strains. It also provides effective relief from pain, stiffness, and swelling due to ankylosing spondylitis (pain due to fusing of bones in the spine), osteoarthritis (pain on movement due to wearing of the protective covering at the ends of the bones) and rheumatoid arthritis (a type of arthritis affecting the small joints). This medicine blocks the release of a chemical that causes pain and swelling, thus providing pain relief.

Esgipyrin-A Tablet shows common side effects like nausea, vomiting, heartburn, stomach pain, loss of appetite, and diarrhoea. Do not use this medicine if you are allergic to it. In some patients, this medicine may cause dizziness and drowsiness. Do not drive or operate machines if you feel drowsy or dizzy after taking this medicine.

Esgipyrin (50/500 mg) Tablet can be taken with food, milk, or an antacid to avoid stomach irritation. Esgipyrin (50/500 mg) Tablet relieves pain and swelling due to arthritic conditions but does not cure it. Do not self-medicate or use it beyond the prescribed duration.

Esgipyrin (50/500 mg) Tablet should be used with caution in people having a history of stomach or intestinal bleeding, heart troubles, asthma and severe liver and kidney troubles. Inform your doctor if you have a history of any medical condition or if you are taking any medication. Also, inform your doctor if you are pregnant, planning a pregnancy or are breastfeeding.

RA is a form of arthritis where the small joints of the body are affected. Esgipyrin (50/500 mg) Tablet is used to relieve swelling and pain in the joints due to RA.
Osteoarthritis
Osteoarthritis (OA) is the most common form of arthritis. In healthy joints, a protective tissue called cartilage covers the ends of bones and reduces friction so that we can move easily. When a joint develops OA, this cartilage breaks down, so the joint bones begin to rub against one another. This can cause pain and stiffness, and make it difficult to walk, stand or perform other activities. Esgipyrin (50/500 mg) Tablet is used to relieve pain and stiffness due to OA.
Dysmenorrhea
Dysmenorrhoea (painful periods) is a throbbing, aching cramp or pain that you get in your lower belly just before and during your periods. Esgipyrin (50/500 mg) Tablet is used for the treatment of muscle cramps and pain during periods.
Ankylosing Spondylitis
Ankylosing spondylitis (AS) is a type of arthritis that primarily affects the spine and causes some of the small bones in the spine to fuse.AS begins in the lower back spine and can increase up to the neck. Esgipyrin (50/500 mg) Tablet is used to relieve stiffness and pain (especially in the lower back, hip, and pelvis) associated with ankylosing spondylitis.
Mild to moderate pain
Esgipyrin (50/500 mg) Tablet provides relief from headache, backache, toothache, sprain, and strain.

When not to use?

Allergy
Avoid taking Esgipyrin (50/500 mg) Tablet if you are allergic to it. Seek immediate medical attention if you notice any symptoms such as a skin rash, itching/swelling (especially of the face/tongue/throat), severe dizziness, breathing difficulty, etc.
Kidney failure
Esgipyrin (50/500 mg) Tablet is not recommended for use in people having severe kidney problems that are associated with the excessive use of painkillers. If you have pre-existing kidney problems, consult your doctor before taking this medicine.
Coronary Artery Bypass Surgery (CABG)
Coronary Artery Bypass Surgery (CABG) is a surgical procedure to restore normal blood flow to the heart muscle. Do not use Esgipyrin (50/500 mg) Tablet to relieve pain after heart surgery as it may cause serious side effects.
Stomach and intestinal bleeding
Esgipyrin (50/500 mg) Tablet is not recommended for use in conditions such as active ulcers, stomach and intestinal bleeding as it may worsen your condition.
Severe liver impairment
Esgipyrin (50/500 mg) Tablet is absorbed and broken down in your liver. This medicine is not recommended if you already have severe liver problems as it may cause further damage to your liver.

Dosage

Missed Dose
If you have forgotten to take Esgipyrin (50/500 mg) Tablet at a scheduled time, take it as soon as you remember. However, if it is time for your next dose, skip the dose. Do not take two doses at once to make up for the missed one.
Overdose
Never take more than the prescribed dose. Seek emergency medical treatment in case you suspect an overdose of Esgipyrin (50/500 mg) Tablet.

General Instructions

Take Esgipyrin (50/500 mg) Tablet with or after food to avoid stomach upset.
Do not crush, break or chew the tablet.
Take the medicine at around the same time daily.
Avoid self-medication and take this medicine only for the prescribed duration.
Avoid alcohol consumption while taking this medicine as it may elevate dizziness or drowsiness and stomach bleeding.
Do not drive or operate machines if you feel dizzy or drowsy.
