Dolo 650 Tablet (Paracetamol 650mg)

INTRODUCTION

DOLO 650 MG TABLET contains Paracetamol which belongs to the group of medicines called Analgesics and Antipyretics. It is used to relieve mild to moderate pain (including headaches, backache, toothache, severe nerve pain, sore throat, period pain, low back and leg pain, muscle, connective tissue and joint pain, symptomatic relief of sprains, strain, joint swelling and stiffness). It is also used to lower fever (high body temperature) and relieve cold or flu symptoms.

Before taking DOLO 650 MG TABLET, inform your doctor if you or your child have liver or kidney problems or any allergies. It should be used with caution in patients with liver problems due to alcohol to prevent the risk of liver damage.

DOLO 650MG TABLET should be used with caution in pregnant women only if clearly advised by the doctor and can be used in breastfeeding women. DOLO 650MG TABLET is not recommended for use in children less than 10 years of age and should be used with caution in elderly patients.

HOW DOLO 650MG TABLET WORKS

DOLO 650MG TABLET relieves pain by increasing the pain threshold by inhibiting certain enzymes (COX-1 and COX-2) involved in the synthesis of chemicals responsible for inducing pain (prostaglandins). It reduces fever by directly acting on heat-regulating centers in the brain, resulting in vessel relaxation, sweating and loss of body heat.

DIRECTIONS FOR USE

Take DOLO 650MG TABLET as advised by your physician. Swallow the medicine with a glass of water. Do not crush or chew the medicine. Your doctor will decide the correct dose and duration for you based on your age, body weight and disease condition.

INTERACTIONS

A. Drug – Drug interactions:

Before taking DOLO 650MG TABLET, inform your doctor if you are taking any of the following medicines:

• Other medicines containing paracetamol
• Medicines to treat nausea and vomiting (Ex. metoclopramide, domperidone)
• Cholestyramine (used to control blood lipid levels)
• Warfarin (used for treating blood clots)
• Medicines used to treat bacterial infections (Ex. rifampicin, flucloxacillin, chloramphenicol)

Overdosage:

If you or anyone else accidentally takes too much of DOLO 650MG TABLET, consult your doctor immediately or visit the nearby hospital, even if you feel well, as it can cause delayed, serious liver damage.
