Coolgut 1.2 g Tablet is a medicine used for the treatment of ulcerative colitis, a condition that causes swelling and ulcers (sores) in the lining of the large intestine and rectum. It works by blocking the production of certain chemicals that cause swelling and helps in relieving the symptoms such as stomach pain, diarrhoea, and rectal bleeding.

Coolgut 1.2 g Tablet has some side effects like nausea, vomiting, heartburn, gas, sweating, dry mouth, etc. These side effects may subside by themselves. However, consult your doctor if they bother you for a long time or become severe. Avoid taking this medicine if you are allergic to it.

When not to use?

Allergy
Avoid taking Coolgut 1.2 g Tablet if you are allergic to it. Serious allergic reactions to this medicine are rare. However, seek immediate medical attention if you notice any symptoms such as skin rash, itching/swelling (especially of the face/tongue/throat), severe dizziness, breathing difficulty, etc.
Severe Liver/Kidney Impairment
Coolgut 1.2 g Tablet is broken down in the liver and filtered by the kidneys. Hence, it is not recommended for use if you have severe liver/kidney problems as it may lead to the accumulation of this medicine and increased risk of side effects.

Dosage

Missed Dose
Take the missed dose of Coolgut 1.2 g Tablet as soon as you remember. However, skip the missed dose if it is time for your next scheduled dose. Do not take a double dose to make up for the missed dose.
Overdose
Never take more than the recommended dose of Coolgut 1.2 g Tablet. Seek emergency medical treatment in case of an overdose.
