Budetrol 200 Capsule is a combination of Budesonide and Formoterol. It is used in the treatment of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD is a group of lung conditions that cause blockage of airflow leading to breathing-related problems) and asthma (narrowing of the airways with excessive mucous production). It helps relieve symptoms such as wheezing, shortness of breath, chest tightness, breathing difficulty, coughing, etc.

Budetrol 200 Capsule prevents the release of certain chemicals that cause swelling and narrowing of the airways. Hence, it relaxes and widens the airways leading to the lungs and helps to ease breathing. This medicine is used only for the maintenance treatment of asthma and COPD and is not useful for treating an acute attack.

Budetrol 200 Capsule causes side effects like nausea, vomiting, hoarseness of voice, fungal infections in the mouth, cough, headache, sore throat, etc. Consult your doctor if these side effects persist or worsen.

Budetrol 200 Capsule should be used as instructed by your doctor. The dose and duration of treatment will be decided by your doctor depending on your clinical condition. Take this medicine every day at the same time for better results. Do not stop taking this medicine on your own, as it may cause your symptoms to become worse.

Budetrol 200 Capsule may not be suitable for all. It is not recommended for use in children younger than 12 years of age as there are no safety and efficacy data available. Inform your doctor if you have seizures (fits), liver, or heart problems. Consult your doctor if you are pregnant or are breastfeeding.

When not to use?

Allergy
Avoid using Budetrol 200 Capsule if you are allergic to it. Seek immediate medical attention if you notice any symptoms such as skin rash, itching/swelling (especially of the face/tongue/throat), severe dizziness, breathing difficulty, etc.
Status asthmaticus
Status asthmaticus is a severe form of asthma that is sudden and does not respond to standard treatments. These attacks can last for several minutes or even hours. Budetrol 200 Capsule is not recommended for use if you have status asthmaticus as it is not effective in treating this condition.

Dosage

Missed Dose
If you miss a dose of Budetrol 200 Capsule, take the missed dose as soon as you remember. If it is time for your next dose, skip the missed dose. Do not double your dose to make up for the missed dose.
Overdose
Seek emergency medical treatment in case of an overdose of Budetrol 200 Capsule.

General Instructions

Use Budetrol 200 Capsule as prescribed by your doctor. Follow all the instructions given in the information leaflet/package insert.

Do not use in larger or smaller amounts than prescribed. Do not stop the use of Budetrol 200 Capsule without consulting your doctor.

Consult your doctor if you experience undesirable effects that persist or worsen.

Rinse your mouth with water after each use to prevent infections in the mouth and throat.

Carry your rescue inhaler wherever you go. Budetrol 200 Capsule is not effective in treating an asthma attack that has already started. Always use a rescue inhaler to treat such symptoms.

Consult your doctor to understand which medications to be used on daily basis and which you should use if you have sudden breathing problems (asthma attacks).
