INTRODUCTION
AVIL 50MG contains Pheniramine which belongs to a group of medicines called Antiallergic agents. It is used to treat allergic conditions such as hay fever, drug rashes, angioneurotic oedema, serum sickness, allergic conjunctivitis, food allergy and conditions of the respiratory tract that are accompanied by increased secretion. It also prevents and treats motion sickness, nausea, vomiting and vertigo due to Menière’s disease and other labyrinthine disturbances. Pheniramine provides relief from runny nose, sneezing, congestion, itching, and watery eyes.
Pheniramine is an antihistamine which works by blocking certain natural substances (histamines) that cause allergic symptoms. It also relieves eye redness, puffiness, itching, and watering that commonly occur with allergies.
Before taking AVIL 50MG, tell your physician if you have any allergic reactions such as asthma, narrow angle glaucoma, liver, kidney or heart problems. Consult your doctor for advice if you are pregnant or breastfeeding. This medicine is not suitable for use in children below 5 years of age. The common side effects are drowsiness or sleepiness. It is advised to avoid alcohol while on treatment.
