INTRODUCTION
Nimica 100 DT contain Nimesulide which belongs to a group of medicine called non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID). It is used to treat acute pain and period pains. It works by blocking the release of certain chemical messengers that cause pain and inflammation (redness and swelling).
Nimica 100 DT can be taken after food. Try to take this medicine at the same time each day. It should be swallowed whole with water. Do not crush or chew the medicine. This medicine is strictly not recommended for use in children under 12 years. Before taking this medicine tell your doctor if you have ever had kidney disease, heart disease, liver problems. Pregnant and breastfeeding women should consult their doctor before taking this medicine. The common side effects are ulcers of the stomach and upper part of the small bowels (peptic/gastroduodenal ulcers), hole in the wall of the bowels (perforation) or bleeding of the digestive tract, diarrhoea, sickness, vomiting, minor changes in blood tests for liver function.

SIDE EFFECTS OF Nimica 100 DT
SERIOUS
Stomach discomfort or pain, loss of appetite, nausea, bleeding from your stomach or bowel or passing black motions
Skin disorders such as rash or redness
Wheezing or shortness of breath
Yellowing of your skin or the whites of your eyes (jaundice)
Unexpected change in the amount or colour of urine
Swelling of your face, feet, or legs
Persistent tiredness
COMMON
Ulcers of the stomach and upper part of the small bowels (peptic/gastroduodenal ulcers)
Hole in the wall of the bowels (perforation) or bleeding of the digestive tract
Diarrhoea, sickness, vomiting, minor changes in blood tests for liver function
RARE
Anaemia
Decrease in white cells in the blood, increase in certain white cells (eosinophils) in the blood
Changes in blood pressure
Bleeding
Discomfort passing urine or stoppage of urine, blood in the urine
Increase in potassium in the blood
Feelings of anxiety or nervousness
Nightmares
Blurring of vision
Increased pulse rate
Skin flushing
Redness of the skin
Skin inflammation (dermatitis)
HOW TO MANAGE SIDE EFFECTS of Nimica 100 DT
Diarrhoea:
Drink lot of fluid such as water or squash, to avoid dehydration. Do not take any other medicines without talking to a doctor.
Nausea and vomiting:
Try taking this medicine with, or just after, a meal or snack and stick to simple meals and do not eat rich or spicy food.
Stomach pain:
Try to rest and relax. You can eat and drink slowly or have smaller and frequent meals. Applying heat pad or covered hot water bottle on your stomach. If still pain persists, speak to your doctor.
WARNING & PRECAUTIONS
PREGNANCY
NIMICA DT 100MG is not recommended for use in pregnant women unless necessary (last 3 months of pregnancy). Discuss the risks and benefits with your doctor.
BREASTFEEDING
NIMICA DT 100MG is not recommended for use in breastfeeding women unless necessary. Discuss the risks and benefits with your doctor.
DRIVING AND USING MACHINES
Do not drive or operate any machine while taking this medicine as it may cause dizziness or sleepiness.
ALCOHOL
Consumption of alcohol is not recommended during treatment with NIMICA DT 100MG.
KIDNEY
NIMICA DT 100MG is not recommended in patients with active kidney diseases. Before taking, discuss the risks and benefits with your doctor.
LIVER
NIMICA DT 100MG is not recommended in patients with active liver diseases. Before taking, discuss the risks and benefits with your doctor.
ALLERGY
Do not take NIMICA DT 100MG if you are allergic (hypersensitive) to nimesulide or any other ingredients in this medicine.
LUNGS
NIMICA DT 100MG is not recommended in patients with active lung diseases (wheezing, chest tightness, breathlessness (asthma). Before taking, discuss the risks and benefits with your doctor.
HEART DISEASE
NIMICA DT 100MG is not recommended in patients with active heart diseases. Before taking, discuss the risks and benefits with your doctor.
OTHERS of Nimica 100 DT
Tell your doctor if you have or had a condition such as,
Have had nasal blockage due to swellings in the lining in your nose (nasal polyps)
Have had skin rashes / nettles rash (urticaria)
Have had sudden skin or mucosal swelling, such as swelling around the eyes, face, lips, mouth, or throat, possibly making breathing difficult (angioneurotic oedema)
Recent or history of stomach or intestinal ulcers or bleeding (ulceration or bleeding occurring at least twice), holes (perforations) in your stomach or intestines
Have had bleeding into the brain (a stroke)
Have any other problem with bleeding or any problems due to your blood not clotting
Are taking drugs of addiction, or have developed a habit that makes you dependent on drugs or other substances
Are suffering from fever or flu (feeling generally achy, unwell, chills or shivering or have a temperature)
Have high blood pressure, diabetes, or high cholesterol or are a smoker
Bleeding (causing tar-coloured stools) or ulceration of your digestive tract (causing abdominal pain)
Have ever suffered from peptic ulcers
Bleeding from the stomach or bowel, or from inflammatory conditions of the bowel such as ulcerative colitis or Crohn’s disease
Are elderly
Have an intolerance to some sugars
INTERACTIONS of Nimica 100 DT
Talk to your doctor if you are taking,
Corticosteroids (used in the treatment of inflammatory conditions)
Anti-coagulants such as warfarin, or antiplatelet agents, aspirin, or other salicylates (used for thin the blood)
Antihypertensives or diuretics (used to control blood pressure or heart conditions)
Lithium, selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors (used to treat depression and similar conditions)
Methotrexate (used for the treatment of rheumatoid arthritis and cancer)
Cyclosporin (used after transplantation or for the treatment of immune system disorders)
