Brufen 600 Tablet (Ibuprofen 600mg)

BRUFEN 600MG TABLET belongs to the group of medications called NSAID’s (Non-Steroidal Anti-Inflammatory Drugs) primarily used to relieve mild to moderate pain, inflammation, and fever in adults and pediatrics above 6 months of age. It helps to treat the conditions of menstrual cramps, headache, neuralgia (nerve-related pain), migraine, back pain, dental pain, swelling and stiffness in joints and muscles, cold, and flu symptoms. Pain is a symptom triggered by the nervous system, which causes uncomfortable sensations in the body. Pain can cause inflammation, redness, swelling, and fever.

BRUFEN 600MG TABLET contains IBUPROFEN which works by blocking the effect of a chemical messenger in your body, known as cyclo-oxygenase (COX) enzymes that make another chemical ‘prostaglandins’ (PG). These prostaglandins are produced at injury sites and cause pain and swelling. By blocking COX enzymes’ effect, lesser PGs are produced, which reduces mild to moderate pain, inflammation, and fever.

Take BRUFEN 600MG TABLET as prescribed by your doctor. You are advised to take BRUFEN 600MG TABLET for as long as your doctor has prescribed it for you, depending on your medical condition. In some cases, you may experience certain common side-effects such as stomach pain, indigestion, diarrhoea, constipation, flatulence (gas), general weakness, and dizziness. Most of these side-effects do not require medical attention and will resolve gradually over time. However, you are advised to talk to your doctor if you experience these side-effects persistently.

BRUFEN 600MG TABLET increases the chances of stomach ulcers and bleeding. BRUFEN 600MG TABLET can increase your risk of fatal heart attack or stroke. So, if you have had any recent heart bypass surgery, do not use BRUFEN 600MG TABLET. Avoid or limit the intake of alcohol while taking BRUFEN 600MG TABLET. To treat your condition effectually, continue taking BRUFEN 600MG TABLET for as long as your doctor has prescribed. Consult your doctor before taking BRUFEN 600MG TABLET if you are pregnant or breast-feeding; your doctor will prescribe you BRUFEN 600MG TABLET only if the benefits outweigh the risks. BRUFEN 600MG TABLET causes drowsiness, so drive with caution. BRUFEN 600MG TABLET should not be given to children as safety and efficacy have not been established. Do not take BRUFEN 600MG TABLET for more than 10 days unless prescribed by your doctor. If your condition does not improve even after taking BRUFEN 600MG TABLET for 10 days, please consult your doctor.

Take BRUFEN 600MG TABLET before half an hour meal/snack for better results. Tablet: Do not chew, break, or crush the tablet; swallow it as a whole with a glass of water. Take BRUFEN 600MG TABLET at the same time every day. Liquid: Shake the bottle well and take the prescribed dose/quantity by mouth using the measuring cup provided by the pack. Topical: Take a pea-sized amount onto your finger and apply it directly onto the affected area and gently massage it in. If BRUFEN 600MG TABLET comes in contact with eyes, nose, or mouth, rinse with water immediately.

Like all medicines, BRUFEN 600MG TABLET can also cause side-effects, although not everybody experiences them. Stomach pain, indigestion, diarrhoea, constipation, flatulence (gas), nausea, rash, weakness, and dizziness are the common side-effects of BRUFEN 600MG TABLET.
