Description

Vanking 1 GM Injection is a bactericidal antibiotic that is used alone or in combination with other medicines for the treatment of infection of the intestine, blood, heart, and bone. Rapid intravenous infusion of this medicine may lower the blood pressure.

Uses of Vanking 1 GM Injection

What is it prescribed for?
Endocarditis
This medicine is used in the treatment of endocarditis which is an infection of the inner lining of the heart caused by Streptococcus species and Staphylococcus species.
Osteomyelitis
This medicine is used in the treatment of bone infections like osteomyelitis caused by Staphylococci and Streptococci species.
Lower Respiratory Tract Infection
This medicine is used in the treatment of lower respiratory tract infections including pneumonia (the most common type of lung infection), bronchitis, etc. caused by susceptible strains of methicillin-resistant staphylococci in penicillin-allergic patients, or those patients who failed to respond/cannot receive other medicines or therapies.
Skin and Soft tissue infections
This medicine is used to treat skin and soft tissue infections caused by Staphylococcus aureus and Streptococcus pyogenes.
Bacterial Septicemia
This medicine is used in the treatment of septicemia which is an infection of the blood caused by Staphylococci and Streptococcus pyogenes.

When not to use?

Allergy
This medicine is not recommended for use in patients with a known allergy to vancomycin or any other inactive ingredients present along with the formulation.

Warnings

Pregnancy
This medicine is not recommended for use in pregnant women unless necessary. All the risks and benefits should be discussed with the doctor before receiving this medicine.
Breast-feeding
This medicine is not recommended for use in breastfeeding women unless necessary. All the risks and benefits should be discussed with the doctor before receiving this medicine.
General warnings
Ototoxicity
This medicine should be used with caution in patients because it may alter the hearing ability if particularly it is used more than 10 days
Impaired kidney function
This medicine may increase the risk of kidney injury, especially in the elderly population. The dose of this medicine should be adjusted based on the creatinine clearance (CrCl). Any signs and symptoms of kidney injury like fluid accumulation, weight gain should be reported to the doctor.
Drug-resistance
Usage of this medicine without sufficient proof or suspicion of a bacterial infection should be avoided. Irrational dosing might fail in providing the benefits and even cause toxicity. It may also increase the risk of development of bacteria that are drug-resistant.
Neutropenia
This medicine should be used with caution in patients with pre-existing neutropenia due to an increased risk of a further decrease in leukocyte count and therapy should be discontinued if needed.
Driving or operating machinery
Use of this medicine may cause drowsiness or dizziness in some patients. It is advised that you do not perform any activities such as driving a vehicle or operating machinery if you experience any of these symptoms during or immediately after treatment with this medicine.

Overdose
Since this medicine is administered in the hospital setting by a qualified healthcare professional, the likelihood of an overdose is very less. However, emergency medical treatment will be initiated by the doctor if an overdose is suspected.
