VALZAAR 80MG contains Valsartan which belongs to a group of medicines called angiotensin II receptor blocker. It is indicated for the treatment of hypertension and a recent heart attack (myocardial infarction) in both adults and in children aged above 6 years. It can also be used to provide symptomatic relief from heart failure. Valsartan antagonizes the hypertensive effects of angiotensin II at angiotensin receptor 1 (AT1) binding sites and reduces the risk of cardiovascular outcomes. Along with the treatment, your doctor might recommend you make certain lifestyle changes such as quitting alcohol and smoking, improve your sleep at night, eating a healthy diet and manage weight.

Always take this medicine as directed by your physician. It can be taken with or without food. Swallow the medicine as a whole with a glass of water. The main side effect of taking this medicine is dizziness. Avoid travelling, driving or operate any machine while taking this medicine. HOW VALZAAR 80MG WORKS

VALZAAR 80MG blocks the vasoconstrictor and aldosterone-secreting effects of angiotensin II by selectively blocking the binding of angiotensin II to the AT1 receptor in many tissues, such as vascular smooth muscle and the adrenal gland. This relaxes the blood vessel and lowers the blood pressure which can increases the supply of blood and oxygen to the heart.

DIRECTIONS FOR USE

DRIVING AND USING MACHINES

KIDNEY
VALZAAR 80MG should be taken with caution in patients with severe kidney disease. Consult your doctor for advice.

LIVER

ALLERGY
Do not take this medicine if you are allergic (hypersensitive) to valsartan.

HEART DISEASE
VALZAAR 80MG should be taken with caution in patients with severe heart disease other than heart failure or heart attack. Consult your doctor for advice.

OTHERS

Before taking this medicine, inform your doctor if you:

Have aldosteronism (increased levels of hormone aldosterone) or dehydration (loss of fluids)
