Description

Tigez 50 MG Injection is an antibiotic which is used to treat infections in the abdomen, skin, and lungs. This medicine is not used regularly unless necessary. This medicine may cause teeth discoloration in the children. It may increase the risk of sunburns when exposed to the sunlight.

Uses of Tigez 50 MG Injection

What is it prescribed for?
Intraabdominal Infection
Tigez 50 MG Injection is used in the treatment of Intra-abdominal infections like Peritonitis, Appendicitis, Intra-abdominal Abscess caused by E.coli, Streptococci, and Enterococci.
Skin and Structure Infection
Tigez 50 MG Injection is used in the treatment of Skin and Structure infection like cellulitis, wound infection and cutaneous abscess caused by Streptococcus pyogenes and Staphylococcus aureus.
Pneumonia
Tigez 50 MG Injection is used in the treatment of community acquired pneumonia which is a most common type of lung infection caused by Streptococcus pneumoniae and Haemophilus influenzae.

When not to use?

Allergy
Not recommended in the patients with the history of allergy to tetracyclines.

Warnings

Warnings for special population
Pregnancy
This medicine is not recommended for pregnant women.
Breast-feeding
This medicine is not recommended in breastfeeding women.
General warnings
Photosensitivity
Sunburn reactions are observed in patients receiving this medicine. Patients should be counseled about these reactions and advised to discontinue the treatment if any symptoms of skin rash appear.
Impaired liver function
This medicine should be used with caution in patients with the liver injury. Close monitoring of liver function tests is necessary. Discontinue the treatment if the symptoms persist.
Use in children
This medicine may cause permanent teeth discoloration, therefore not recommended for children less than 8 years of age.
Drug-resistance
Usage of Tigez 50 MG Injection without sufficient proof or suspicion of a bacterial infection should be avoided. Irrational dosing might fail in providing the benefits and even cause toxicity. It may also increase the risk of development of bacteria that is drug resistant.
Pancreatitis
This medicine is known to cause a serious and fatal condition called pancreatitis. Discontinue the treatment if any signs and symptoms of pancreatitis appear.

Dosage

Missed Dose
The missed dose should be taken as soon possible. It is advisable to skip the missed dose if it’s already time for your next scheduled dose.
Overdose
Seek emergency medical treatment or contact the doctor if any symptoms of overdose appear.
