Description

Storax Plus Tablet is a combination dietary medicine used as a cognitive enhancer (improve memory, increase mental alertness and concentration). It is responsible for maintaining and regulating the various vital function of the brain such as nerves transmission. This medicine restores vitamin B12 levels in the body and helps in the proper growth of the brain. This medicine enhances cognitive functions such as memory, thinking ability, etc. This medicine also repairs the damaged nerves during brain injury. This medicine is not indicated for children and used only in age-related memory loss, as a cognitive enhancer.

The common side effects of Storax Plus Tablet are headache, diarrhoea, irregular heartbeat and low or high blood pressure. Most of these side effects do not require medical intervention and resolves with time. However, if any of these side effects persist or worsen, consult your doctor at the earliest. Drink plenty of water as this medicine may cause diarrhoea. Avoid using this medicine if you are allergic to it.

Take Storax Plus Tablet as directed by your doctor and do not self-medicate or stop on your own. You can take this medicine with or without food. Discuss all the known illnesses with your doctor before taking this medicine. Inform your doctor if you are pregnant, planning pregnancy or breastfeeding mother. Uses of Storax Plus Tablet

What is it prescribed for?
Acute ischemic stroke
Acute ischemic stroke occurs due to blockage of a blood vessel by a clot causing limited blood flow to the brain. Storax Plus Tablet is used for recovery from a brain stroke caused by the formation of a blood clot in the blood vessels.
Alzheimer’s disease
Alzheimer’s disease (AD) is a progressive brain condition where the brain cells themselves degenerate and die. It results in a gradual loss of memory and also reduces the ability to think, learn, communicate, or handle daily activities. Storax Plus Tablet gets converted to a form called choline that protects the brain cells from damage and also repairs the damaged brain cells. Therefore, Storax Plus Tablet is used for the improvement of cognition in patients suffering from AD.
Cerebral insufficiency
Cerebral insufficiency occurs when there is a lack of proper blood flow to the brain due to brain injury or blood clots. It can result in memory loss, poor concentration and lack of orientation. Storax Plus Tablet is used to improve blood flow problems in the brain.
Other diseases of the brain
Many other diseases of the brain like Parkinson’s disease, age-related dementia, etc., are also treated with Storax Plus Tablet to improve the symptoms.
Glaucoma
Glaucoma is an eye condition of abnormally high eye pressure that can cause loss of vision. It can damage the eye’s optic nerve responsible for vision. Storax Plus Tablet is used to improve vision in people with optic nerve damage.

When not to use?

Allergy
Avoid taking Storax Plus Tablet if you are previously allergic to it. Serious allergic reactions to this medicine are rare. Seek immediate medical attention if you notice any symptoms of allergic reactions such as skin rash, breathing difficulties, swelling of the face/tongue/throat, etc.
Hypertonia
Hypertonia is a condition of too much muscle tone in the body. This condition makes it difficult to flex and move around normally. It occurs when the brain and spinal cord are affected by injury or illness before, during, or after birth. Storax Plus Tablet is not recommended to use in patients with this condition.
Leber Hereditary Optic Neuropathy (LHON)
LHON is a rare genetic disorder, characterized by pain in the eye and surrounding area with loss of vision (sometimes blindness) caused by eye nerve damage (optic nerve). Storax Plus Tablet causes a decrease in the size of nerves (atrophy) that may worsen the condition. Hence, this medicine is not recommended for this disease.

Warnings for special population
Pregnancy
The use of Storax Plus Tablet is not recommended in pregnancy due to lack of its safety data. Discuss all the potential benefits and risks with your doctor before taking this medicine.
Breast-feeding

In some cases, Storax Plus Tablet therapy may cause drowsiness and hence the patient should refrain from driving or performing tasks that require a high level of mental alertness.
Mental illness
Storax Plus Tablet should be used with caution in patients with mental illnesses such as depression, schizophrenia (a disorder that affects a person’s ability to think, feel and behave clearly), anxiety disorders, eating disorders and addictive behaviours.
Elderly
Few elderly patients may have a reduced capacity to absorb Storax Plus Tablet through the intestine. Your doctor may advise a dose adjustment based on the clinical condition.
Gastrointestinal surgery
Patients who have had recent gastrointestinal surgery may have reduced absorption of Storax Plus Tablet. Your doctor may advise a dose adjustment or other dosage form based on the clinical condition.
Body odour
Storax Plus Tablet may cause fishy body odour. Your doctor may advise some medicine to cover the fishy body odour.

Dosage

Missed Dose
Take the missed dose of Storax Plus Tablet as soon as you remember. If it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and resume at the scheduled time. Do not double your dose to make up for the missed one.
Overdose
Seek emergency medical treatment or contact the doctor in case you suspect an overdose of Storax Plus Tablet.

Interactions

General Instructions
Take Storax Plus Tablet exactly as instructed by the doctor. Take this medicine with or without food. Do not take in larger or smaller amounts than prescribed. Seek emergency medical treatment in case of any severe side effects. Ensure that the course of treatment is completed. Do not stop the use of this medicine without consulting your doctor. Take this medicine immediately after peeling from the strip.
