About Solitral Capsule 10’s

Solitral Capsule 10’s belongs to a class of drug known as genitourinary tract agent primarily used to treat benign prostatic hyperplasia (overgrowth of the prostate gland, a gland situated between the bladder and penis). Benign prostatic hyperplasia is a common illness as men get older. An inflamed prostate gland can cause unpleasant urinary symptoms, like preventing the urine flow out of the bladder. It can also cause urinary tract, bladder, or kidney problems.

Solitral Capsule 10’s is a combination of two medicines: Alfuzosin (alpha-blockers) and Solifenacin (antimuscarinic). Alfuzosin works by blocking the action of alpha-1 receptors and causes smooth muscle relaxation in the bladder and prostate (a walnut-sized gland located between the bladder and the penis). Solifenacin works by inhibiting contraction of the smooth muscle wall surrounding the bladder, resulting in decrease bladder activity. This helps to control the release of urine and helps reduce your symptoms. Collectively, both of them improve the symptoms of Benign Hyperplasia Prostate (BPH).

Take Solitral Capsule 10’s as prescribed by your doctor. You are advised to take Solitral Capsule 10’s for as long as your doctor has prescribed it for you depending on your medical conditions. You may experience dizziness, headache, tiredness, dryness in the mouth, blurred vision, constipation, flushing (sense of warmth in the face, ears, neck and trunk). Most of these side effects of Solitral Capsule 10’s do not require medical attention and gradually resolve over time. However, if the side effects are persistent, reach out to your doctor.

To treat your condition effectually continue taking Solitral Capsule 10’s for as long as your doctor has prescribed it. Try not to stop taking it on your own. Directions for Use

Capsule: Swallow the capsule with a glass of water as a whole. Do not crush, break or chew the capsule. Solitral Capsule 10’s can be taken with food. However, taking Solitral Capsule 10’s after a heavy meal might take a longer time for the medicine to work. Therefore you are advised to take Solitral Capsule 10’s with light meals.

Drug Warnings

Do not take Solitral Capsule 10’s if you are allergic to Solitral Capsule 10’s or any of the ingredients. So avoid intake of Solitral Capsule 10’s with antihypertensive drugs. You are advised not to drive or operate heavy machinery after taking Solitral Capsule 10’s as it may cause dizziness. Avoid consuming alcohol along with Solitral Capsule 10’s as it could lead to increased dizziness and drowsiness.

Drug Interactions

Drug-Drug Interaction: Solitral Capsule 10’s interacts with medicines used to treat high blood pressure (prazosin, terazosin, verapamil, diltiazem, amiodarone), drugs used to treat erectile dysfunction (sildenafil, vardenafil, tadalafil), azole antifungals (itraconazole, ketoconazole), HIV protease inhibitor (lopinavir, ritonavir, indinavir), blood thinners (warfarin), antibiotics (erythromycin), NSAIDs (diclofenac, ibuprofen, indomethacin).

Drug-Food Interaction: Solitral Capsule 10’s may interact with grapefruit juice, alcohol, and tobacco. This may cause more side effects than it normally does. So, a Solitral Capsule 10’s should not be taken along with them.

Drug-Disease Interaction: Solitral Capsule 10’s should not be taken in patients with heart problems, low blood pressure, kidney or liver disease, have certain eye diseases, loss of vision due to loss of blood flow to the optic (eye) nerve.
