About O2 Tablet 10’s
O2 Tablet 10’s belongs to the group of medicines called antibiotics used to treat bacterial infections of the urinary tract, intestine, respiratory tract, gonorrhoea, and genital infections of both male and female. Additionally, O2 Tablet 10’s is also used to treat diarrhoea. Bacterial infections are caused due to the multiplication of harmful bacteria inside or on the body. Infectious or harmful bacteria can make you sick and reproduce quickly in your body. These harmful bacteria produce chemicals known as toxins, which can damage tissue and make you sick. O2 Tablet 10’s does not work against infections caused by the virus, including cold and flu.
O2 Tablet 10’s is a combination of two antibiotic drugs, namely: Ofloxacin and Ornidazole. Ofloxacin inhibits DNA gyrase which is required for the replication, transcription, and repair of the DNA. Ornidazole inhibits protein synthesis and leads to cell death, thereby kills the bacteria. Together, O2 Tablet 10’s helps in treating bacterial infections.
Take O2 Tablet 10’s with or without food. The tablet form of O2 Tablet 10’s should be swallowed as a whole with water; do not chew, break or crush the tablet. The liquid form of O2 Tablet 10’s should be taken by mouth using the measuring cup provided by the pack; shake the pack well before each use. A healthcare professional will administer the injection form of O2 Tablet 10’s; do not self-administer. The dose and duration of O2 Tablet 10’s can vary depending upon your condition and severity of the infection. Also, it is recommended to complete the course of medicine even if you feel better as O2 Tablet 10’s contains antibiotics, and leaving it in between may lead to even severe infection that will, in fact, stop responding to the antibiotic as well (antibiotic resistance). In some cases, you may experience certain common side-effects such as nausea, vomiting, loss of appetite, dizziness, and headache. Most of these side-effects do not require medical attention and will resolve gradually over time. However, you are advised to talk to your doctor if you experience these side-effects persistently.
Before starting O2 Tablet 10’s, please inform your doctor if you have any allergy (against any antibiotic), kidney or liver problems. Do not take O2 Tablet 10’s on your own as self-medication may lead to antibiotic-resistance in which antibiotics fail to act against specific bacterial infections. Consult your doctor if you experience pain in tendons, swelling, and inflammation as O2 Tablet 10’s is associated with an increased risk of tendon rupture and tendonitis. Consult your doctor before taking O2 Tablet 10’s if you are pregnant or breastfeeding. Avoid alcohol consumption while taking O2 Tablet 10’s as it may cause increased dizziness. O2 Tablet 10’s may cause dizziness and vision problems, so be cautious while driving. O2 Tablet 10’s is not recommended for use in children.
