Nucoxia MR Tablet (Etoricoxib 60mg / Thiocolchicoside 4mg)

Nucoxia/MR Tablet 10’s belongs to a group of medicines called Non-Steroidal Anti-Inflammatory Drugs (NSAID’s) used for the treatment of osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, gouty arthritis and ankylosing spondylitis, acute pain, chronic low back pain and muscle spasms. Pain is a symptom triggered by the nervous system, causing uncomfortable sensations in the body. Muscle spasm is the sudden involuntary contractions of the muscle, which can be painful and uncomfortable.

Nucoxia MR Tablet 10’s is a combination of two drugs: Etoricoxib (NSAID) and Thiocolchicoside (Muscle relaxant). Etoricoxib blocks the effect of a chemical messenger known as cyclo-oxygenase (COX) enzyme that makes other chemical prostaglandins (PG). By blocking the effect of COX enzymes, lesser PGs are produced. This helps in reducing mild to moderate pain and inflammation at the injured or damaged site. Thiocolchicoside works on the centres of the spinal cord and brain. This helps relieve muscle stiffness and improves muscle movements, thereby helping relieve pain due to muscle spasms.

You can take Nucoxia MR Tablet 10’s with or without food. Swallow Nucoxia MR Tablet 10’s as a whole with water, do not crush or chew the tablet. You are advised to take Nucoxia MR Tablet 10’s for as long as your doctor has prescribed it for you depending on your medical condition. In some cases, you may experience certain common side-effects such as flatulence, nausea, diarrhoea, indigestion, swelling of hands and feet. Most of these side-effects do not require medical attention and will resolve gradually over time. However, you are advised to talk to your doctor if you experience these side-effects persistently.

Nucoxia MR Tablet 10’s can increase your risk of fatal heart attack or stroke. So, if you have had any recent heart surgery, do not take Nucoxia MR Tablet 10’s. Nucoxia MR Tablet 10’s increases the chances of stomach ulcers and bleeding. Do not take Nucoxia MR Tablet 10’s if you are pregnant or breastfeeding unless prescribed by the doctor. Nucoxia MR Tablet 10’s may cause sleepiness and dizziness, so drive with caution. Nucoxia MR Tablet 10’s should not be given to children as safety and efficacy have not been established. Avoid consuming alcohol along with Nucoxia MR Tablet 10’s as it could lead to increased dizziness, it might also increase the risk of stomach bleeding. Keep your doctor informed about your health condition and medicines to rule out any side-effects.
