Nervup Forte Capsule (Methylcobalamin)

Overview

Nervup Forte Capsule is used for Diabetic polyneuropathy, Nerve disorder, Loss of sensation, Weight loss, Loss of consciousness, Hereditary disorders, Adjuvant therapy for diabetes, Treatment of anemias of nutritional origin, Pregnancy, Infancy, Or childhood, Nerve damage, Low haemoglobin and other conditions. Nervup Forte Capsule may also be used for purposes not listed in this medication guide.

Nervup Forte Capsule contains Alpha Lipoic Acid, Folic Acid, Mecobalamin and Pyridoxine Hydrochloride Ip as active ingredients.
Nervup Forte Capsule works by acting on megaloblastic bone marrow to produce a normoblastic marrow; inducing the oxidative stress response and chelating iron; increasing the production of red blood cells by the bone marrow; treating or preventing the low levels of pyridoxine;

Uses

Nervup Forte Capsule is used for the treatment, control, prevention, & improvement of the following diseases, conditions and symptoms:
Diabetic polyneuropathy
Nerve disorder
Loss of sensation
Weight loss
Loss of consciousness
Hereditary disorders
Adjuvant therapy for diabetes
Treatment of anemias of nutritional origin, pregnancy, infancy, or childhood
Nerve damage
Low haemoglobin

Side-effects

The following is a list of possible side-effects that may occur from all constituting ingredients of Nervup Forte Capsule. This is not a comprehensive list. These side-effects are possible, but do not always occur. Some of the side-effects may be rare but serious. Consult your doctor if you observe any of the following side-effects, especially if they do not go away.
Sleepiness
Flatulence
Allergic reactions
Anorexia
Nausea
Abdominal distention
Bitter or bad taste
Altered sleep patterns
Difficulty in concentrating
Irritability
Overactivity
Excitement
Mental depression
Confusion
Impaired judgment
Decreased vitamin b12 serum levels
Seizures in epileptic patients receiving phenobarbital, primidone, or diphenylhydantoin
Decreased diphenylhydantoin serum levels in folate-deficient patients

Injection site related side effects
Diarrhea
Loss of appetite
Stomach pain

Precautions

Before using Nervup Forte Capsule, inform your doctor about your current list of medications, over the counter products (e.g. vitamins, herbal supplements, etc.), allergies, pre-existing diseases, and current health conditions (e.g. pregnancy, upcoming surgery, etc.). Some health conditions may make you more susceptible to the side-effects of the drug. Take as directed by your doctor or follow the direction printed on the product insert. Dosage is based on your condition. Tell your doctor if your condition persists or worsens. Important counseling points are listed below.
Administration of folic acid alone is improper therapy for pernicious anemia and other megaloblastic anemias in which vitamin B12 is deficient
Avoid alcohol consumption, especially if having alcoholic cirrhosis
Do not take it on your own
Do not take this medicine as a sole treatment for diabetes and its complications
Folic acid in doses above 0.1 mg daily may obscure the diagnosis of pernicious anemia
History of liver disease
Pregnant, planning to get pregnant or breastfeeding
Risk of obscuring the diagnosis of pernicious anemia
Take this medicine on empty stomach about 1 hour before or 2 hours after consuming food
Vitamin B12 is use to treat pernicious anemia

If you use other drugs or over the counter products at the same time, the effects of Nervup Forte Capsule may change. This may increase your risk for side-effects or cause your drug not to work properly. Tell your doctor about all the drugs, vitamins, and herbal supplements you are using, so that you doctor can help you prevent or manage drug interactions. Nervup Forte Capsule may interact with the following drugs and products:
Alcohol
Amiodarone
Armour Thyroid
Barbiturates
Chloramphenicol
Cimetidine
Colchicine
Diphenylhydantoin
Famotidine
Lansoprazole

When not to use Nervup Forte Capsule

Hypersensitivity to Nervup Forte Capsule is a contraindication. In addition, Nervup Forte Capsule should not be used if you have the following conditions:
Hypersensitivity
Intolerance to the drug
Kidney or Liver problems
Low blood sugar
Thyroid disorder

Composition and Active Ingredients

Nervup Forte Capsule is composed of the following active ingredients (salts)
Folic Acid – Vitamin B9 – 0.5 MG
Alpha Lipoic Acid – 200 MG
Mecobalamin – 500 MCG
Pyridoxine Hydrochloride Ip – 1 MG
