About Momoz T Crem 10 gm
Momoz T Crem 10 gm is a dermatological medication primarily used to treat fungal skin infections. It is used to treat various skin conditions like eczema, psoriasis ringworm, athlete’s foot, jock itch, dermatitis (itchy, dry skin or rash), and tinea versicolor (lightening or darkening of the skin of the neck, chest, arms, or legs). Eczema is a skin condition associated with inflamed, itchy, cracked, and rough skin patches. Psoriasis is a skin disease in which skin cells multiply rapidly to form bumpy (uneven) red patches covered with white scales. Fungal infection occurs when a fungus invades and affects the tissue on the skin.
Momoz T Crem 10 gm is composed of two medicines: Mometasone (corticosteroid) and Terbinafine (antifungal). Mometasone belongs to the class of corticosteroids. Corticosteroids have anti-inflammatory, immunosuppressive, and antiproliferative (inhibit cell growth) properties. It blocks the production of prostaglandins (chemical messengers) that make the affected area red, swollen, and itchy. Mometasone effectively treats inflammation and itchiness caused by eczema and psoriasis. On the other hand, Terbinafine is an antifungal medication that treats fungal infections, such as athlete’s foot, jock itch, and ringworm. It works by inhibiting the synthesis of ergosterol in the fungal cell membrane (a compound present in the fungi to maintain the cell integrity) and resulting in fungal cell death.
Momoz T Crem 10 gm is available in the form of cream, gel, and lotion. Your doctor will advise the appropriate dose that suits your infection. Momoz T Crem 10 gm has common side effects like skin peeling, itching, irritation, dryness, redness, and burning sensation at the application site. These side effects usually go away during the treatment. Let your doctor know if you face any side effects like skin rash, headache, swelling, thinning of the skin, nausea, and vomiting after using Momoz T Crem 10 gm.
Momoz T Crem 10 gm is for topical (for skin) use only. Let your doctor know if you have any allergic reactions to Mometasone, Terbinafine, or other medications. If you are using any other prescription, non-prescription drugs, herbal, and vitamin supplements, please inform your doctor before using Momoz T Crem 10 gm. Do not use Momoz T Crem 10 gm on sensitive areas like nostrils, ears, lips, or genitals. Avoid dressing the infected areas after applying Momoz T Crem 10 gm unless the doctor advised you to do so. Using steroids may increase the risk of low birth weight in the new-born baby. Hence, Pregnant and breastfeeding mothers should consult the doctor before starting Momoz T Crem 10 gm. Momoz T Crem 10 gm is not approved for use in children below 12 years of age.

In-Depth Precautions and Warning
Drug Warnings
Avoid contact of topical Momoz T Crem 10 gm with nose, mouth, or eyes as it may irritate. In case Momoz T Crem 10 gm comes in contact with these areas accidentally, rinse with water thoroughly. Corticosteroids (Mometasone) may cause hypothalamic-pituitary-adrenal axis suppression (inadequate cortisol production) in liver failure patients. Please do not use Momoz T Crem 10 gm in cases of diabetes, poor blood circulation, immune system problems, Cushing’s disease (high cortisol levels), cataract, and glaucoma. Mometasone may also increase the risk of infection in patients exposed to viral illnesses like chickenpox or measles. Topical use of corticosteroids may sometimes cause systemic immunosuppression (decreased ability to fight infections) which further worsens the infections, hence Momoz T Crem 10 gm should be used with caution in patients with active infections.
Mometasone in Momoz T Crem 10 gm causes a rise in blood sugar levels in diabetic patients, therefore check with your doctor before starting Momoz T Crem 10 gm. Do not use Momoz T Crem 10 gm for treating diaper rash, since Mometasone can cause adrenal suppression, Cushing’s syndrome (high cortisol levels), and intracranial hypertension (pressure of the fluid surrounding the brain) in infants due to systemic absorption. Using steroids increases the risk of low birth weight in the new-born baby. Also, Terbinafine in Momoz T Crem 10 gm can pass into breast milk. Hence, pregnant and breastfeeding mothers should consult the doctor before starting Momoz T Crem 10 gm.
