Description

Metrogyl ER Tablet is an antibiotic medicine that contains Metronidazole. It is used in the treatment of infections of the stomach, intestines, liver, lungs, heart, vagina, and skin. It is also used in the combination with other antibiotics in surgical prophylaxis. This medicine acts by killing the bacteria and preventing the spread of infection.

Metrogyl ER Tablet may show some common side effects such as dizziness, stomach ache, diarrhoea, metallic taste in the mouth, etc. These side effects are mild and may subside by themselves. Consult your doctor if any of these symptoms bother you for a long time or worsen. Avoid consuming alcohol as it may lead to undesired effects like nausea, vomiting, stomach discomfort, etc. Do not take this medicine if you are allergic to it.

When not to use?

Allergy

Dosage

Missed Dose
Try not to skip any dose of Metrogyl ER Tablet. If you forget to take a dose, take it as soon as you remember. However, if the delay is more than 12 hours, skip the missed dose. Do not double your dose to make up for the missed one.
Overdose
Never take more than the prescribed dose. Seek emergency medical treatment in case of an overdose with Metrogyl ER Tablet.
