About Melabest Cream 15 gm

Melabest Cream 15 gm is a skin related medication primarily used to treat melasma (dark brown patch on skin). Melasma also known as chloasma or mask of pregnancy, is a common skin condition which causes brown patches on the face. It is more common in women than in men. The discoloured (grey-brown) patches occur mostly on forehead, chin, nose and cheeks.

Melabest Cream 15 gm contains three medicines, namely: Hydroquinone (skin lightening or bleaching agent), Mometasone (corticosteroid) and Tretinoin (a form of Vitamin A or retinoids). Hydroquinone belongs to the class of skin lightening agents that works by decreasing the amount of melanin (a skin pigment) that is responsible for the darkening of the skin. Mometasone belongs to the class of corticosteroids that works by acting inside skin cells and inhibits the release of certain chemical messengers in the body that cause redness, itching and swelling. Tretinoin belongs to the class of retinoids (man-made vitamin A) that works by increasing the renewal of skin cells, which helps in natural exfoliation of skin’s outer layers.

Melabest Cream 15 gm is only for external use. Take a small amount of Melabest Cream 15 gm on the fingertip and apply on the clean and dry affected area. Avoid contact of Melabest Cream 15 gm with nose, mouth, eyes, ears or vagina. Do not apply on a cut, open wound or burn skin area. In case Melabest Cream 15 gm comes in contact with these areas accidentally, rinse with water thoroughly. Some people may experience skin pain, acne, redness, irritation, burning, itching or stinging sensation of the skin. Most of these side effects of Melabest Cream 15 gm do not require medical attention and gradually resolve over time. However, if the side effects persist or worsen, please consult your doctor.
