Description

Magprol CR 200 Tablet is an anticonvulsant medicine, which is used as alone or in combination with other medicines for the treatment of certain types of epilepsies; is a brain disorder characterized by symptoms like uncontrolled jerking movements and loss of consciousness. It is also used for the treatment of mania which is a mental disorder characterized by hyperactivity and mood swings. This medicine is used to prevent migraine headaches characterized by symptoms such as severe headache, eye pain, nausea, and vomiting.

What is it prescribed for?

This medicine is used in the treatment of epilepsy which is a brain disorder that causes repeated seizures. Uncontrolled jerking movements and loss of consciousness are some of the symptoms of epilepsy.
Mania
This medicine is used in the treatment of mania which is a mental disorder characterized by symptoms such as hyperactivity, racing thoughts, mood swings, etc.
Migraine Prophylaxis
This medicine is used for the prevention of migraine headaches which are characterized by symptoms such as a severe headache, eye pain, nausea, vomiting, etc.

When not to use?

Allergy
This medicine is not recommended for use in patients with a known allergy to magnesium valproate, or any other inactive ingredients present in the formulation.
Liver Disease
This medicine is not recommended for use in patients suffering from liver diseases due to the increased risk of worsening the patient’s condition.
Urea cycle disorders
This medicine is not recommended for use in patients suffering from urea cycle disorders (high levels of ammonium in the blood) due to the increased risk of serious adverse effects.

Dosage
