Lulibet Lotion (Luliconazole 1%) 50ml

INTRODUCTION

LULIBET 1% contains Luliconazole which belongs to the group of medicines called azole antifungal agents. It is indicated for the topical treatment of cutaneous mycosis (tinea pedis, tinea cruris and tinea corporis) in adult patients. Tinea pedis (athlete’s foot) is a dermatophyte infection of soles of feet and interdigital spaces. Tinea cruris, also known as jock itch is a superficial fungus infection of crotch (region where your leg joins) and perineum. Tinea corporis, popularly known as ringworm, is a fungal infection characterized by red, itchy, circular rash with clearer skin in the middle.

Luliconazole exerts its antifungal activity by disrupting the permeability of normal fungal cell membrane. It inhibits the enzyme lanosterol demethylase, which results in decreased amounts of ergosterol, which is a major component of the fungus cell membranes. It is for topical use only. Avoid contact with eyes, ears, nose or vagina. Do not apply this lotion to the areas with marked erosion/fissures.

LULIBET 1% is generally well tolerated and does not pose any side effects. However, if you experience any application site reactions, check with your physician. It should be used during pregnancy only if the potential benefit justifies the potential risk to the fetus. Consult your doctor before using. It is not known whether luliconazole can be excreted in breast milk. It should be used with caution in lactating mothers.

Treats interdigital tinea pedis, tinea cruris and tinea corporis in adults

HOW LULIBET 1% WORKS

Luliconazole blocks the synthesis of ergosterol by inhibiting the enzyme called lanosterol demethylase in the susceptible fungi. Inhibition of lanosterol demethylase by luliconazole results in decreased concentration of ergosterol, a constituent of fungal cell membranes, and a corresponding accumulation of lanosterol.

DIRECTIONS FOR USE

Apply this medicine as directed by your physician. Apply a thin layer of the medicine to the affected area and approximately 1 inch of immediate surrounding areas once daily for 1 or 2 weeks. It is for topical use only. Avoid contact with eyes, ears, nose or vagina. Do not apply this lotion to the areas with marked erosion/fissures. Wash your hands after use. Continue to apply this medicine, as long as your doctor tells you to do so, to obtain better results.

SIDE EFFECTS OF LULIBET 1%

LULIBET 1% is generally safe and does not cause any side effects. However, if you experience any application site reactions such as contact dermatitis or cellulitis, check with your physician.

HOW TO MANAGE SIDE EFFECTS

Application site reaction:

Avoid hot showers or baths because hot water can irritate the skin. Do not rub or scratch the affected area. Regularly use sunscreens and protective clothing when you are going outdoors. Regularly use moisturizers to soothe and hydrate the affected area. If it does not get better, speak to your doctor.

WARNING & PRECAUTIONS

PREGNANCY
LULIBET 1% should only be used during pregnancy if the potential benefit justifies the potential risk to unborn baby. There are no adequate and well-controlled studies of this medicine in pregnant women.

BREASTFEEDING
Before using this medicine, inform your doctor if you are breastfeeding, because it is not known that, if luliconazole can cross into human milk. Consult your doctor for advice.

DRIVING AND USING MACHINES
Do not drive or use any tools or machines if your ability is affected by this medicine.

ALLERGY
Do not take this medicine if you are allergic (hypersensitive) to luliconazole or similar azole antifungal agents.

Tell your doctor about all the medicines you use, including non-prescription and prescription medicines, and herbal supplements.
