Description

Lobate M Cream is a combination of Clobetasol and Miconazole. It is a topical medicine (for external use only) that helps to treat skin infections. It helps to relieve symptoms like redness, swelling, and itching caused by bacterial and fungal skin infections.

Lobate M Cream is used in conditions such as psoriasis (a condition in which skin cells build up and form scales, and dry, itchy patches), dermatoses (any skin lesions or eruptions), athletes foot (a fungal infection that affects the skin on the feet) etc. This cream works by blocking the production of prostaglandins (chemical messengers) that cause redness, swelling and itching. It also prevents the growth of fungi.

Lobate M Cream may cause some side effects like burning, irritation, itching and redness at the site of application. Before you start using this cream, perform a patch test by applying it to a small area on your skin to know how your skin will react to Lobate M Cream. Discontinue the use if you experience excessive itching or swelling.

When not to use?

Allergy
Do not use Lobate M Cream if you are allergic to it. Seek immediate medical attention if you notice any symptoms such as a skin rash, itching/swelling anywhere on your body, burning sensation, etc.
Pruritus without inflammation
Pruritus is also called itching. Lobate M Cream is not recommended for the treatment of skin itching that is not associated with swelling because it might not be effective in treating such conditions.
Acne
Acne (whiteheads, blackheads, or pimples) is a skin condition that occurs when hair follicles get blocked by oil and dead skin cells. Lobate M Cream is not used for the treatment of acne because it can make the sebaceous glands (oil-secreting glands) susceptible to swelling and infection. This can complicate the acne flare-ups and worsen the condition.
Skin Infections not responsive to steroids
Avoid the use of Lobate M Cream if you have skin infections that are not responsive to steroid treatment. Consult your doctor before using this medicine to understand your skin condition.

Warnings

Warnings for special population
Pregnancy
Lobate M Cream is not recommended to be used in pregnancy. Consult your doctor before using this medication if you are pregnant.
Breast-feeding

Cushing’s syndrome
Cushing’s syndrome is a disorder in which the body makes too much of a hormone called cortisol. Prolonged use of Lobate M Cream can cause Cushing’s syndrome. Consult your doctor immediately if symptoms like swelling of your face, an increase in blood glucose levels, etc, are observed.
External use
Lobate M Cream is only recommended for external use. Avoid contact with your mouth, eyes, mucous membranes, cuts, grazes, or wounds.
Use in children
Lobate M Cream is not recommended for use in children less than 12 years of age unless directed by your doctor. If used, long-term continuous treatment should be avoided.

Dosage

Missed Dose
Apply the missed dose of Lobate M Cream as soon as you remember. Do not double the dose to compensate for the missed dose.
Overdose
An overdose of Lobate M Cream is not likely to cause severe symptoms. However, ingestion of this medicine may affect you and immediate medical intervention may be required.

General Instructions

Apply a thin layer of Lobate M Cream to the affected area as instructed by your doctor. Follow all the usage instructions mentioned on the label or the package insert.
Do not apply in larger or smaller quantities than recommended.
Do not cover the application area with bandages or other coverings unless specifically instructed by your doctor.
