About Glycolate 1 Tablet

Glycolate 1 Tablet 10’s belongs to a category of medications called ‘anticholinergics’ primarily used to peptic ulcer in adults and severe drooling caused by certain neurologic disorders (cerebral palsy) in children 3 to 16 years of age. Besides this, Glycolate 1 Tablet 10’s Injection is indicated in adults to treat hypersecretion states, for example, secretions in the stomach or airway, and to help protect the heart and nervous system while patients are under general anesthesia.

Glycolate 1 Tablet 10’s contains ‘Glycopyrrolate’ is a class of medicines called anticholinergics. It works by blocking the activity of a chemical messenger (acetylcholine) in the brain. It also decreases stomach acid and saliva production by blocking the activity of a certain natural substance in the body.

Take Glycolate 1 Tablet 10’s as prescribed by your doctor. You are advised to take Glycolate 1 Tablet 10’s for as long as your doctor has prescribed it for you depending on your medical condition.  Some people may experience Decreased urination, decreased sweating, sore throat, upper respiratory tract infection, constipation, nausea, vomiting, headache, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth, blurred vision are the common side-effects of Glycolate 1 Tablet 10’s. Most of these side effects of Glycolate 1 Tablet 10’s do not require medical attention and gradually resolve over time. However, if the side effects persist or worsen, please consult your doctor.

Do not use Glycolate 1 Tablet 10’s if you are allergic to Glycolate 1 Tablet 10’s or any of its contents. If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, it is advised to inform your doctor before using Glycolate 1 Tablet 10’s. It should be used in children only if prescribed by a doctor. Glycolate 1 Tablet 10’s should be used with caution in patients with urination problems, a blockage in your stomach or intestines, severe constipation, severe ulcerative colitis, glaucoma, myasthenia gravis, or active bleeding with heart and blood circulation problems, enlarged prostate, liver/ kidney diseases. In some cases, you may experience sensitivity of the eyes to light. Please protect your eyes from light after taking Glycolate 1 Tablet 10’s. If it is very hot and you are not sweating, your body can overheat, it is advisable to drink a lot of cold water, move to a cooler place, especially in summer. Consumption of alcohol should be avoided as it may lead to excessive drowsiness and sleepiness.

Directions for Use

Tablet: It is better to take Glycolate 1 Tablet 10’s an hour before a meal. Glycolate 1 Tablet 10’s should be swallowed whole with a glass of water. Do not crush, chew, or break it.Oral solution: Shake the bottle well before use. Side Effects of Glycolate 1 Tablet 10’s

Like all medicines, Glycolate 1 Tablet 10’s can also cause side-effects, although not everybody experiences them. Decreased urination, decreased sweating, sore throat, upper respiratory tract infection, constipation, nausea, vomiting, headache, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth, blurred vision are the common side-effects of Glycolate 1 Tablet 10’s. Talk to your doctor if you experience any of these side-effects persistently.

Drug Warnings

If you are allergic to Glycolate 1 Tablet 10’s or any other medicines, please tell your doctor. If you are pregnant or a breastfeeding mother, it is advised to consult a doctor before using Glycolate 1 Tablet 10’s. Glycolate 1 Tablet 10’s is not recommended for children below 3 years of age. Please inform your doctor if you are using any prescription and non-prescription medications you are taking, including vitamins, herbal supplements. If you have urination problems, a blockage in your stomach or intestines, severe constipation, severe ulcerative colitis, glaucoma, myasthenia gravis, or active bleeding with heart and blood circulation problems, enlarged prostate, liver/ kidney diseases. Avoid becoming overheated or dehydrated during exercise and in hot weather. Glycolate 1 Tablet 10’s can decrease sweating and you may be more prone to heatstroke.

Drug Interactions

Drug-Drug Interaction: Glycolate 1 Tablet 10’s may interact with other anticholinergics (atropine), cholinesterase inhibitors (neostigmine, pyridostigmine), anticonvulsants (topiramate), antihistamines (diphenhydramine).

Drug-Food Interaction: Avoid alcohol intake as it may increase side effects such as drowsiness, dizziness.

Drug-Diseases Interaction: If you have urination problems, gastrointestinal blockage, severe constipation, ulcerative colitis, glaucoma, heart, and blood circulation problems, inform your doctor before taking Glycolate 1 Tablet 10’s.
