Espin TM Tablet is a combination medicine which may be used for the treatment of high blood pressure. Patients are advised to maintain a strict exercise and diet regimen along with this medicine to get the best possible effect. This medicine is not recommended for use in patients below 18 years of age.

When not to use?

Allergy
This medicine is not recommended for use in patients with a known allergy to s-amlodipine, other calcium-channel blockers, telmisartan, or any other inactive ingredients present in the formulation.
Aliskiren
Coadministration of aliskiren and this combination medicine is not recommended due to the increased risk of serious adverse effects. This risk is especially higher in the elderly population and in patients with diabetes and kidney diseases.

Dosage

Missed Dose
Take the missed dose as soon as you remember. If it is almost time for your next scheduled dose, skip the missed dose. Do not double your dose to make up for the missed one.
Overdose
Seek emergency medical treatment or contact the doctor in case of an overdose.

Pregnancy

General warnings

Hypotension
Symptomatic hypotension may occur in patients with volume depletion or patients who are treated with high doses of diuretics. It is advised to correct the condition before beginning treatment with this medicine.
Hyperkalemia
Use of this medicine may increase potassium levels in the blood (hyperkalemia). This may cause serious side effects such as fatal cardiac rhythm irregularities. It is advised to avoid potassium-rich foods (potatoes, bananas) and other medicines that may increase potassium levels (potassium-sparing diuretics and potassium supplements) during treatment with this medicine.
Use in Children
This medicine is not recommended for use in patients less than 18 years of age since the safety and efficacy of use are not clinically established.
Myocardial infarction or angina
This medicine should be used with caution in patients with myocardial infarction or angina since it may worsen the patient’s condition. Appropriate corrective measures, dose adjustments, or replacement with a suitable alternative may be required based on the clinical condition.
Liver/Kidney Disease
This medicine should be used with caution in patients suffering from liver/kidney diseases due to the increased risk of severe adverse effects. Close monitoring of liver/kidney function tests is necessary while receiving this medicine. Appropriate dose adjustments or replacement with a suitable alternative may be required in some cases based on the clinical condition.
Driving or Operating machinery
Use of this medicine may cause dizziness or drowsiness in some patients. It is advised that you do not perform any activities that require high mental alertness like driving a vehicle or operating machinery if you experience any of these symptoms during treatment with this medicine.

General Instructions

Take this medicine exactly as advised by your doctor. It can be taken with or without food. Do not take in larger amounts than advised/prescribed. Consult the doctor if you experience any undesirable side effects. Ensure that the treatment course is completed. Do not stop the use of this medicine without consulting your doctor.
