What is ERITEL?

ERITEL tablets contains Amlodipine Besylate, Hydrochlorothiazide and Telmisartan Tablet
Amlodipine tablets belongs to a group of medicines called calcium antagonists
Hydrochlorothiazide belongs to a group of medicines called thiazide diuretics, which cause your urine output to increase, leading to a lowering of your blood pressure
Telmisartan belongs to a group of medicines called angiotensin II receptor antagonists

What ERITEL is used for?

ERITEL tablets are used to treat

High blood pressure (hypertension)
Chest pain due to narrowing of the blood vessels of the heart muscle (angina pectoris) or the rarer form of chest pain caused by cramping of the blood vessels of the heart muscle called Prinzmetal or variant angina

Warning & Precautions

Talk to your doctor before taking this medicine, if you

Are allergic to amlodipine, Hydrochlorothiazide and Telmisartan or any of the other ingredients of this medicine, or to any other calcium antagonists
Are suffering from cardiogenic shock
Are suffering from narrowing of the aortic heart valve
Suffer from heart failure after a heart attack
Suffer from chest pain at rest or with minimal effort (unstable angina pectoris)
Have severe low blood pressure (hypotension)
Have liver or kidney problems
Are elderly, your doctor may monitor you closely
Have diabetes or impaired kidney function
Have Gout
Suffer from heart trouble
Have renal artery stenosis (narrowing of the blood vessels to one or both kidneys)

Tell your doctor if you are taking any of the following medicines

Medicines that can lower blood pressure (e.g. verapamil, diltiazem)
Ketoconazole and itraconazole (antifungal medicines used to treat skin and fungal infections)
HIV-protease-inhibitors (antiviral medicines used to treat HIV infections, e.g. ritonavir, Indinavir, Nelfinavir, Nevirapine)
Clarithromycin, erythromycin and telithromycin, rifampicin, rifabutin (antibiotics)
Nefazodone, medicine to treat depression
John’s wort, herbal medicine for depression
Dexamethasone (corticosteroid used to treat inflammatory and autoimmune conditions such as rheumatoid arthritis)
Dantrolene (infusion for severe body temperature abnormalities)
Tacrolimus (medicine used to alter the way your immune system works)
Simvastatin (cholesterol lowering medicine)
Cyclosporine (an immunosuppressant)
Phenobarbital, phenytoin and carbamazepine (medicines for epilepsy)
Sildenafil (medicine for impotence)
Lithium containing medicines to treat some types of depression

Directions & For Use

Dosage

Always take ERITEL tablets exactly as your doctor has told you
ERITEL can be used before or after food
You should take this medicine at the same time each day with a drink of water
Do not take ERITEL with grapefruit juice
If you take more ERITEL tablets

If you or someone else has taken too much ERITEL, contact your nearest hospital casualty department
If you forget to take ERITEL tablets

If you forget to take a tablet,leave out that dose completely. Take your next dose at the right time
Do not take a double dose to make up for a forgotten dose
If you stop taking ERITEL tablets

Your doctor will advise you how long to take this medicine
Your condition may return if you stop using this medicine before you are advised

Side Effects

Like all medicines, this medicine can cause side effects although not everybody gets them.

Amlodipine

Sudden wheeziness, chest pain, shortness of breath or difficulty in breathing
Swelling of eyelids, face or lips
Swelling of the tongue and throat which causes great difficulty breathing
Severe skin reactions including intense skin rash, hives, reddening of the skin over your whole body, severe itching, blistering, peeling and swelling of the skin, inflammation of mucous membranes (Stevens Johnson Syndrome) toxic epidermal necrolysis or other allergic reactions
Heart attack, abnormal heart beat
Inflamed pancreas which may cause severe abdominal and back pain accompanied with feeling very unwell

Hydrochlorothiazide + Telmisartan

Increase in pressure unusual reaction, resulting in a decrease in vision and eye pain
Fluid or electrolyte imbalance include dry mouth, weakness, lethargy, drowsiness, restlessness, muscle pain or cramps, nausea (feeling sick), vomiting, tired muscles, and an abnormally fast heart rate (faster than 100 beats per minute)
Increased sensitivity of the skin to the sun with symptoms of sunburn (such as redness, itching, swelling, blistering) occurring more quickly than normal
Sepsis, swelling of skin and mucosa
