Duvanta 20mg Tablet is an antidepressant. This medication is prescribed to treat depression and other mood disorders such as anxiety. It is also used to treat diabetic neuropathic pain (nerve damage due to diabetes) and fibromyalgia (widespread pain in the body).

Duvanta 20 MG Tablet works by increasing the level of chemical transmitters (serotonin and norepinephrine) in the brain that help maintain mental balance and stop the movement of pain signals in the brain.

When not to use?

Allergy
Duvanta 20 MG Tablet is not recommended if you are allergic to it. Seek immediate medical attention if you notice any symptoms such as skin rash, itching/swelling (especially of your face/tongue/throat), severe dizziness, breathing difficulty, etc.
Monoamine oxidase inhibitors
MAOIs (monoamine oxidase inhibitors) are medications used to treat depression and other mental health conditions. Do not take Duvanta 20 MG Tablet with MAOIs or within two weeks after discontinuing MAOIs, as it can lead to life-threatening complications.
Narrow angle glaucoma
Narrow-angle glaucoma is a condition in which pressure inside your eyes increases. It happens due to fluid build-up caused by blocked drainage canals. Duvanta 20 MG Tablet is not recommended if you have narrow-angle glaucoma as it may increase the risk of mydriasis (a condition in which the pupil of the eye gets widened due to increased eye pressure).

Dosage

Missed Dose
Take the missed dose of Duvanta 20 MG Tablet as soon as you remember. If it is almost the time for your next dose, skip the missed dose. Do not double your dose to make up for the missed one.
Overdose
Seek emergency medical treatment in case of an overdose of Duvanta 20 MG Tablet.

Take Duvanta 20 MG Tablet as instructed by your doctor. Do not crush, break or chew the tablets.
