Medical Description

Dolostat SP medicine contains aceclofenac, paracetamol and serratiopeptidase as its active ingredients. The medicine has analgesic action, used to provide relief from pain and inflammation associated with arthritis and post-surgery. Aceclofenac and paracetamol in Dolostat tablet relieve the pain and inflammation and Serratiopeptidase reduces the swelling at the affected site. Take it as advised by the doctor.

Uses of Dolostat Sp Tablet

The medicine is used to provide relief from the pain associated with osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis and ankylosing spondylitis and post surgeries.

Contraindications of Dolostat Sp Tablet

If you have an allergy to paracetamol, aceclofenac, serratiopeptidase or other ingredients of Dolostat medicine.
If you have allergy including asthma, skin rashes or runny nose after taking medicines like Ibuprofen and Aspirin.
If you have experienced allergic reactions.
If you have stomach ulcers or bleeding.
If you suffer from heart disease like heart failure and high blood pressure.
If you have kidney and liver function problems.
If you are pregnant (especially after 3rd month of pregnancy).

Talk to your doctor if
You suffer from kidney or liver problems.
You suffer from problems like high blood pressure, heart failure.
You are an elderly patient or taking diuretics or have a kidney disorder, the medicine increases the risk of kidney failure. The doctor may suggest performing renal function tests for the same.
You suffer from gastrointestinal problems like bleeding, ulcers in the intestine (perforation) or Crohn’s disease or you notice black tarry stools.
You suffer from asthma as the medicine worsen the same.
You suffer from SLE (autoimmune disorder).
You are an alcoholic and the concomitant use of the medicine damages the liver.
You suffer from disorders related to blood like clotting problems and anaemia.
You develop skin rashes and lesions after taking the medicine.

Mode of Action of Dolostat Sp Tablet

How Does It Work?
Aceclofenac and paracetamol interfere with the production of a chemical substance called prostaglandin that is responsible for swelling and pain.
Serratiopeptidase repairs the tissues and thus decreasing the swelling around the infected area.

Directions for Use of Dolostat Sp Tablet

Dolostat SP tablet must be consumed as a whole with a sufficient amount of water and take after food. Take as recommended by the doctor to gain optimal benefit.

Interactions of Dolostat Sp Tablet

Interactions with other medicines
Some medicines affect the way Dolostat SP tablet works or the medicine itself reduces the effectiveness of other medicines taken at the same time.
Inform the physician regarding the medicines, supplements or herbals you take or might take to avoid possible interaction.
Take medicines for high blood pressure, steroidal medicines, painkillers, medicines for HIV, blood thinner medicines, antibiotics and medicines for diabetes.
Other medicines containing paracetamol must not be taken along with the Dolostat SP tablet.
Dolostat  tablet must not be used for 8-12 days after taking a medicine, mifepristone as Dolostat tablet reduces the effect of mifepristone.
Dolostat SP tablet if taken along with steroids, anticoagulants and brain-related medicine increases the risk of bleeding.
DolostatSP tablet reduces the blood pressure-lowering action of anti-hypertensive medicine, caution must be exercised.

Store at a cool and dry place protected from moisture.
Keep it away from children.

Dosage of Dolostat Sp Tablet

Overdose
Symptoms of an overdose are headache, nausea, vomiting and stomach pain. If you have taken too much of the medicine, contact the doctor or visit the nearest hospital.
Missed a Dose
If you have missed taking a dose of Dolostat  tablet, take it as soon as you remember. If it’s time for the next dose, skip the missed dose and continue with the regular dosing schedule. Avoid taking a double dose to compensate for the missed one.
