Medical Description

New Dolo Cold 500/30/10 Mg Tablet 10 contains a combination of three medicines – Paracetamol, Caffeine, and Phenylephrine. It works by the combined action of its three components. Paracetamol helps in reducing body temperature, Phenylephrine is a nasal decongestant and helps in the stuffy and congested nose, and caffeine is a stimulant. You should take this medicine in a dose and duration prescribed by your doctor. If there is no improvement in your condition after 3 days or your condition worsens, immediately inform your doctor. New Dolo Cold500/30/10 Mg Tablet 10 should not be used for children under the age of 16 years.

New Dolo Cold500/30/10 Mg Tablet 10 is used for the treatment of fever, cough, cold, nasal congestion, and relieving pain.

Contraindications of New Dolo Cold 500/30/10 Mg Tablet 10

If you are allergic to Paracetamol, Caffeine, Phenylephrine, or any other element of this tablet
If you are using any other nasal decongestant (a medicine used to clear blocked nose)
If you have an eye condition or increased eye pressure inside your eyes(Glaucoma)
If you are using medicines for psychiatric disorders such as Amitriptyline, Desipramine, Isocarboxazid, and Selegiline
If you are using medicines like Atenolol, Metoprolol, etc. to treat blood pressure
If you have a tumour in the adrenal gland
If you have a severe liver, kidney disease or thyroid disorder

Talk to your doctor if

You have an enlarged prostate gland or have any heart-related disorder
You have a disorder where the colour of your skin changes when exposed to hot and cold temperatures
You consume excess coffee, tea, and some caffeinated drinks

How Does It Work?
Paracetamol helps in reducing fever. It reduces fever by inhibiting chemical substances that cause an increase in temperature and also acts as a pain killer.
Caffeine is a mild stimulant. It stimulates the nervous system and improves the pain-relieving action of paracetamol.
Phenylephrine acts by constricting the blood vessels around the nose and thus reduces swelling. This helps in clearing the blocked nose.

New Dolo Cold 500/30/10 Mg Tablet 10 should be consumed after eating a meal, as prescribed by your doctor.
It should be swallowed whole with a sufficient amount of liquid

Interactions with other medicines
Concomitant use of New Dolo Cold500/30/10 Mg Tablet 10 with psychiatric medicines like Isocarboxazid and Selegiline can increase blood pressure and other heart-related side effects such as palpitations.
Medicines such as Debrisoquine, Guanethidine, Reserpine, and Methyldopa, if taken along with New Dolo Cold500/30/10 Mg Tablet 10, can increase the risk of heart-related side effects.
The effect of other cold medicines like pseudoephedrine is reduced by New Dolo Cold 500/30/10 Mg Tablet 10.
The effect of blood pressure-lowering & anti-hypertensives medicines such as Acebutolol and Atenolol is reduced by New Dolo Cold 500/30/10 Mg Tablet 10.
The anticoagulant effect of medicines like Warfarin is increased by New Dolo Cold500/30/10 Mg Tablet 10, and there can be a risk of bleeding.
The effect of medicine, like ergotamine, used to treat migraine can be increased.
The effect of medicine containing Lithium can be decreased if taken concomitantly with New Dolo Cold 500/30/10 Mg Tablet 10, and it is advised to limit caffeine intake.
Interactions with food items
New Dolo Cold 500/30/10 Mg Tablet 10 should not be taken with tea, coffee, or caffeinated drinks

Overdose

Missed a Dose
If you have missed any dose of New Dolo Cold500/30/10 Mg Tablet 10, take it as soon as you remember. If it’s time for your next dose, skip the missed one and continue with your regular dose schedule. Do not take a double dose of this medicine to compensate for the missed one.
