Description

Clopitab CV 10 Capsule is a combination of Atorvastatin and Clopidogrel. It is used in the treatment of high blood cholesterol and triglycerides (fats) levels. Thus, it also helps to prevent the risk of heart attack and stroke (a condition that occurs due to reduced blood supply to the brain). This medicine works by preventing blood clot formation and reducing the production of unwanted fats in your body.

Clopitab CV 10 Capsule has some side effects like dizziness, headache, nausea, vomiting, constipation, indigestion, etc. These side effects are mild and may subside by themselves. Consult your doctor if they bother you for a long time or become severe. This medicine acts as a blood thinner, thus it may increase the risk of bleeding.

Clopitab CV 10 Capsule may be taken with or without food as instructed by your doctor. Take it every day at the same time for easy remembering and to avoid missing a dose. Avoid taking more than the prescribed dose as it may lead to side effects.

Hence, Clopitab CV 10 Capsule is used in the treatment of hyperlipidaemia.
Prevention of heart attack and stroke
High blood levels of cholesterol and fats may lead to its deposition in the blood vessels. It may cause narrowing of the blood vessels and obstruction in blood flow leading to heart attack or stroke. Clopitab CV 10 Capsule is used for the prevention of heart attack and stroke (damage to the brain due to insufficient blood supply).

When not to use?

Allergy
Avoid taking Clopitab CV 10 Capsule if you are allergic to it. A serious allergic reaction to this medicine is rare. Seek immediate medical attention if you notice any symptoms such as skin rash, itching/swelling (especially of the face/tongue/throat), severe dizziness, breathing difficulty, etc.
Bleeding disorder
Clopitab CV 10 Capsule is not recommended for use if you have peptic ulcers (sores in the lining of your stomach and intestine due to excess acid production). This medicine may further cause stomach and intestinal bleeding and worsen your health condition.
Liver disease
Clopitab CV 10 Capsule is not recommended for use if you have liver problems as it may lead to the accumulation of this medicine in your body and increase the risk of side effects. It may also cause further liver damage and an increase in liver enzyme levels.

Dosage

Missed Dose
Try not to skip the dose of Clopitab CV 10 Capsule. In case you missed a dose, take it immediately. However, if the delay is more than 12 hours, skip the dose. Do not take a double dose to make up for the missed dose.
Overdose
Never take more than the prescribed dose. Seek emergency medical treatment in case of an overdose with Clopitab CV 10 Capsule.
