Baclof 10 Tablet (Baclofen 10mg)

INTRODUCTION

BACLOF 10MG contains baclofen which is a muscle-relaxant drug. It belong to class of medications called skeletal muscle relaxants. It is used to reduce and relieve the excessive tension in your muscles (spasms) occurring in various illnesses such as cerebral palsy, multiple sclerosis, cerebrovascular accidents, spinal cord diseases and other nervous system disorders.

This medicine acts on the nerves of the spinal cord and decreases the severity and reoccurrence of muscle spasms caused by multiple sclerosis or spinal cord conditions. It also relieves pain and improves muscle movement. Baclofen works on the brain and spinal cord to relieve muscle stiffness or spasm thus maintaining the strength of the muscles. This relieves pain and improves movement of muscles.

Always take this BACLOF 10MG exactly as prescribed by your doctor. Before taking this medicine, tell your doctor if you have any medical conditions or disorders. You should also tell your doctor all the other medicines you are taking. Do not drive or handle any machines while taking this medicine. The common side effects are drowsiness, dizziness and weakness.

HOW BACLOF 10MG WORKS
BACLOF 10MG works on the brain and spinal cord to relieve muscle stiffness or spasm maintaining the strength of the muscles. This relieves pain and improves movement of muscles.

DIRECTIONS FOR USE

Take BACLOF 10MG according to the dose and frequency as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break the medicine. It may be taken with or without food.

HOW TO MANAGE SIDE EFFECTS

Headache:

Rest and drink plenty of fluids. Apply a cold, wet cloth or ice pack to your forehead. Rest in a quiet, comfortable, dark room.

Dizziness:

Get up and move around to feel awake, take small naps to edge off the sleepiness. Give your eyes a break to avoid fatigue and eat a healthy food to boost energy.

Feeling sick (nausea) or indigestion:

Stick to simple meals and do not eat rich or spicy foods.

Diarrhoea:

Drink plenty of fluids to avoid dehydration. ORS should be used to prevent dehydration.

PREGNANCY

BACLOF 10MG is not recommended for use in pregnant women unless necessary. Discuss the risks and benefits with your doctor.

BREASTFEEDING

BACLOF 10MG should be used with caution for breastfeeding women unless necessary. Discuss the risks and benefits with your doctor.

DRIVING AND USING MACHINES

BACLOF 10MG may cause drowsiness or dizziness. Do not drive or handle any machines while taking this medicine.

ALCOHOL

Do not drink alcohol while taking this medicine.

KIDNEY

BACLOF 10MG should be used with caution in patients suffering from active kidney diseases. Consult your doctor for advice.

LIVER

BACLOF 10MG should be used with caution in patients suffering from liver function impairment or active liver diseases. Consult your doctor for advice.

ALLERGY

Do not take if you are allergic (hypersensitive) to Baclofen or any of the other ingredients in this medicine.

INTERACTIONS

Tell your doctor if you are taking or have recently taken any other medicines, including medicines obtained without a prescription or the following:

Tizanidine
Lithium and amitriptyline
Diltiazem
Ibuprofen
Levodopa and carbidopa
Promethazine
Temazepam
Morphine
Carbamazepine
