Olan 2.5 Tablet (Olanzapine 2.5mg)

OLAN 2.5MG TABLET belongs to a group of medicines called ‘atypical antipsychotics,’ primarily used to treat schizophrenia and manic depression (bipolar disorder). Schizophrenia is a mental condition in which the person may feel, hear or see things that are not there (hallucinations), believe things that are not true, and feel unusually suspicious or confused. Manic depression or bipolar disorder is a serious brain disorder in which a person experiences extreme mood swings (variance in thinking) and frequent mood and behaviours changes.

OLAN 2.5MG TABLET contains ‘Olanzapine’ that works by restoring the balance of chemical messengers (dopamine and serotonin) in the brain and improves thinking mood, and behaviour. OLAN 2.5 MG TABLET helps in clear thinking and decreases hallucinations. OLAN 2.5MG TABLET is used for treating manic episodes of bipolar disorder and agitation in schizophrenia.

Take OLAN 2.5MG TABLET as prescribed by your doctor. Your doctor will decide the dose and duration based on your medical condition and response to treatment. Common side effects of OLAN 2.5 MG TABLET include drowsiness, dizziness, restlessness, tremors/shakiness, stomach upset, dry mouth, constipation, increased appetite, fatigue, decreased libido, swelling of the hands or feet, and weight gain. These side effects are not familiar to everyone and vary individually. If you notice any side effects that are not manageable, please consult your doctor.

OLAN 2.5MG TABLET is not recommended for treatment in patients with Dementia-Related Psychosis. Inform your doctor beforehand if you have a history of allergic reactions to Olanzapine, Alzheimer’s disease, liver or kidney diseases, heart problems, breathing problems, high cholesterol, glaucoma, diabetes, breast cancer, enlarged prostate, and fits before starting this medicine. If you are pregnant, planning to conceive, or a breastfeeding mother, inform your doctor before starting OLAN 2.5 MG TABLET. Avoid consuming alcohol along with OLAN 2.5MG TABLET as it can make you dizzy or drowsy. Do not drive or operate machinery while using OLAN 2.5MG TABLET since it can make you sleepy. OLAN 2.5MG TABLET is not recommended for children below 12 years of age.

OLAN 2.5MG TABLET is used to treat schizophrenia and manic depression (bipolar disorder). It effectively treats manic episodes of bipolar disorder and agitation in schizophrenia. It contains ‘Olanzapine,’ which belongs to the class of atypical antipsychotics. It works by restoring the balance of chemical messengers (dopamine and serotonin) in the brain. It is also known to improve thinking, mood, and behaviour. It helps in clear thinking and relieves psychotic symptoms like hallucinations.

Take OLAN 2.5 MG TABLET as prescribed by your doctor. The doctor decides the dose and duration of the medicine based on your medical condition. Take this medicine with or without food as directed by the physician.Melt in mouth tablets/Fast Dissolving tablets: Do not touch these tablets with wet hands. These tablets dissolve rapidly when placed on the tongue. Take the tablet and place it on your tongue. Let it disperse/dissolve in your oral cavity and swallow it. There is no need of taking these tablets with water.Tablet/Capsule: Swallow the tablet/capsule as a whole with a glass of water. You can take it with or without food at regular intervals, as prescribed by the doctor. Do not crush, chew or break it. Injection: A healthcare professional will administer the injection form and do not self-administer.
