Zovane 20mgTablet is a medicine that is used to treat the symptoms of depression. It works by regulating the levels of a chemical called serotonin which helps regulate anxiety, mood, and happiness and alleviate the symptoms of depression. It is not recommended for use in children below 12 years of age.

What is it prescribed for?

Depression

Zovane 20mg Tablet is used to treat the symptoms of depression such as anxiety, irritability, lack of concentration, emotional distress, etc. This condition can occur in various forms including menopausal depression (depression that occurs after menopause), psychogenic depression, masked depression (depression with more physical symptoms than psychological ones), depressive neuroses (prolonged mild depression in an unstable person) and dysphoria (lack of interest) and depression in alcoholics/drug addicts.

Allergy

Avoid taking Zovane 2 mg Tablet if you are allergic to it. Seek immediate medical attention if you notice any symptoms of allergic reactions such as skin rash, itching/swelling (especially of the face/tongue/throat), severe dizziness, breathing difficulty, as well as any behavioural changes and suicidal thoughts.

Monoamine oxidase inhibitors (MAOIs)

Zovane 20 mg Tablet is not recommended for use if you are taking monoamine oxidase inhibitors (MAOIs) due to the increased risk of a condition called serotonin syndrome (a condition where your body has too much of a chemical called serotonin, usually because of a medication or combinations of medications). A time gap of at least 14 days should be maintained between stopping treatment with MAOIs and starting treatment with Zovane 20mg Tablet.
