Description

Zocon 50 MG Tablet DT is an anti-fungal medicine. It is used in the treatment of various fungal infections affecting your skin, lungs, mouth, throat, meninges (protective layer covering the brain and spinal cord), etc. Zocon 50 MG Tablet DT works by stopping the growth of fungi, thus preventing the spread of infections.

Zocon 50 MG Tablet DT shows side effects like nausea, vomiting, headache, upset stomach, etc. Consult with your doctor if these side effects are persistent or getting worse. Avoid activities like driving vehicles or operating machines while taking Zocon 50 MG Tablet DT as it can occasionally cause dizziness.

Zocon 50 MG Tablet DT can be taken with or without food. The dose and duration of treatment will be decided by your doctor based on the severity of the infection. Continue to take Zocon 50 MG Tablet DT for the prescribed duration even if you feel better after a few doses, as it may increase the risk of re-infection.

Oesophageal candidiasis is a fungal infection in your oesophagus (food pipe). It may cause dry mouth, swelling, difficulty in swallowing, etc. Zocon 50 MG Tablet DT is used to treat Oesophageal candidiasis.
Cryptococcal Meningitis
Cryptococcal meningitis is a serious infection that affects the meninges (delicate membranes covering your brain and spinal cord). Zocon 50 MG Tablet DT is used to treat Cryptococcal meningitis.
Vaginal Candidiasis
Vaginal candidiasis is a fungal infection that causes pain, itching, and burning sensation with unusual discharge from the vagina (female sex organ and birth canal). Zocon 50 MG Tablet DT is used in the treatment of vaginal candidiasis.
Fungal Urinary Tract Infection

When not to use?

Allergy
Zocon 50 MG Tablet DT is not recommended for use if you are allergic to it. Seek immediate medical attention if you experience symptoms such as skin rash, itching/swelling (especially of the face/tongue/throat), severe dizziness, breathing difficulty, etc.
QT Interval prolonging drugs
Zocon 50 MG Tablet DT may cause QT prolongation (a condition in which your heart muscles take a longer time to recharge between a heartbeat) in some cases. Hence, this medicine is not recommended for use together with other medicines that may also cause QT prolongation such as Cisapride, Primozide, Quinidine, etc., as it may further worsen your condition.

General warnings
Skin disorders
Zocon 50 MG Tablet DT may cause skin conditions in which you may develop painful rashes and blisters on your skin that ultimately start to peel off. Hence, consult your doctor if you develop a skin rash during treatment with this medicine.
Heart condition
Zocon 50 MG Tablet DT should be used with caution if you have heart problems as this medicine may cause QT prolongation (a condition in which your heart muscles take a longer time to recharge between a heartbeat). Thus, it may further worsen your condition.
Driving or operating machines
Zocon 50 MG Tablet DT may occasionally cause dizziness or seizures (fits). Hence, avoid driving vehicles or operating machines if you experience such symptoms.

Dosage

Missed Dose

Try not to skip a dose of Zocon 50 MG Tablet DT. Take the missed dose as soon as you remember. If it is time for your next dose, skip the missed dose. Do not double the dose to compensate for a missed one.
Overdose
Never take more than the prescribed dose. Contact your doctor if you suspect an overdose with Zocon 50 MG Tablet DT.
