INTRODUCTION

VILANO 40MG contain vilazodone which belongs to a group of medicine called selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors (SSRIs). It is used to treat certain type of depression called Major Depressive Disorder (MDD) in adults. Depression is a mood disorder that cause persistent feeling of sadness and loss of interest and it affects your feelings, thoughts and behaviours.

VILANO 40MG works by increasing the levels of a chemical messenger in brain called serotonin that help in regulating mood. The most common side effects of this medicine are diarrhoea, nausea or vomiting, trouble sleeping. Before taking this medicine tell your doctor if you have ever had kidney disease, heart disease, liver problems. Pregnant and breastfeeding women should consult their doctor before taking this medicine.

HOW VILANO 40MG WORKS

DIRECTIONS FOR USE

Always take VILANO 40MG exactly as your doctor has told you. It must be taken with food and always try to take at the same time each day. It should be swallowed whole with water. Do not crush or chew the medicine.

HOW TO MANAGE SIDE EFFECTS

Diarrhoea:

Drink lot of fluid such as water or squash, to avoid dehydration. Do not take any other medicines without talking to a doctor.

Nausea or Vomiting:

Try taking this medicine with, or just after, a meal or snack and stick to simple meals and do not eat rich or spicy food.

Dizziness:

Get up and move around to feel awake, take small naps to edge off the sleepiness. Give your eyes a break to avoid fatigue and eat a healthy food to boost energy.

Headache:

Apply hot or cold-water bag on your head. Take rest in a quiet and dark room. Drink tea or coffee.

• Amphetamines
• St. John’s Wort
• Medicines such as aspirin, nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) and warfarin
• Diuretics
• Selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors (SSRIs) and serotonin norepinephrine reuptake inhibitors (SNRIs) (used to treat mood, anxiety, psychotic or thought disorders)
• Antibiotic such as linezolid or intravenous methylene blue
