What is it prescribed for?
Depression
This medicine is used in the treatment of depression, which is a mood disorder characterized by difficulty sleeping, loss of energy, excessive sleeping, sadness, loss of interest, irritability etc.
When not to use?
Allergy
Tynept 12.5mg medicine is not recommended for use in patients with a known allergy to tianeptine or any other inactive ingredients present along with it.
Monoamine oxidase inhibitors (MAO)
This medicine is not recommended for use in patients taking monoamine oxidase inhibitors (MAOI) due to the increased risk of serious and life-threatening side effects. A time gap of at least 14 days should be maintained between stopping therapy with MAOIs and starting therapy with this medicine.
