About Telrose Tablet 10’s
Telrose Tablet 10’s is a combination drug composed of blood pressure-lowering medicine (Telmisartan) & lipid-lowering medicine (Rosuvastatin). Telmisartan belongs to class of angiotensin II receptor antagonists whereas rosuvastatin belongs to class of HMG CoA reductase inhibitors. Telrose Tablet 10’s contains telmisartan which is an angiotensin receptor blocker and Rosuvastatin which is HMG-CoA reductase enzyme inhibitor. High blood pressure and high levels of cholesterol are two diseases which occur simultaneously in certain patients. Hypertension or high blood pressure is a chronic condition in which the force exerted by the blood against the artery wall is high. As a result, it leads to heart diseases, irregular heartbeat and other complications. High cholesterol known as hyperlipidemia or dyslipidemia occurs when there is an excess of the unhealthy balance of cholesterol in the blood. When there is a high level of cholesterol in the blood, your arteries get narrowed and clogged that finally contributes to heart diseases, like stroke and heart attack. Eating high-fat or high-cholesterol containing food/drinks and genetic factors are the primary causes of high cholesterol.
Telrose Tablet 10’s contains telmisartan which works by blocking the action of a hormone called angiotensin II in the body that causes narrowing of blood vessels leading to high blood pressure. Thereby, telmisartan widens and relaxes blood vessels. Thus, lowers high blood pressure. Another drug present in Telrose Tablet 10’s is rosuvastatin which works by blocking liver enzymes (HMG-CoA-reductase) causing the liver to make less cholesterol. So, rosuvastatin increases the uptake and breakdown of cholesterol already in the blood by the liver. Thus, Telrose Tablet 10’s lower the levels of lipids known as cholesterol and triglycerides in the blood when lifestyle changes (like low-fat diet) on their own have failed. Telrose Tablet 10’s helps in reducing the ‘bad’ cholesterol LDL (low-density lipoprotein) and increase the ‘good’ cholesterol HDL (High-density lipoprotein) by blocking our body’s production of ‘bad’ cholesterol. It also improves your body’s ability to remove it from your blood.
You can take Telrose Tablet 10’s with food or without food. It should be swallowed whole with a glass of water. Do not chew, bite or break it. Your doctor will advise you how often you take your tablets based on your medical condition. In some cases, you may experience an allergic reaction, Low blood pressure (Hypotension), itching of skin, Steven Johnson syndrome (blistering of skin, mouth, eyes and genitals), decreased platelet cell count (thrombocytopenia). Most of these side effects of Telrose Tablet 10’s do not require medical attention and gradually resolve over time. However, if the side effects are persistent, reach out to your doctor. It is important to have your lipid profile checked regularly.
Before starting Telrose Tablet 10’s, please inform your doctor if you have kidney disease or undergone kidney transplant. renal artery stenosis(narrowing of the blood vessels to one or both kidneys), liver disease, heart trouble. Do not take Telrose Tablet 10’s on your own as self-medication.
Uses of Telrose Tablet 10’s
Coexisting Hypertension And Hyperlipidemia.
Medicinal Benefits
Telrose Tablet 10’s is used in patients suffering from coexisting Hypertension (High blood pressure) & Hyperlipidemia (High levels of cholesterol).Telrose Tablet 10’s is widely used together to treat high blood pressure and high cholesterol levels in blood. A combination pill of telmisartan and rosuvastatin improves patient compliance due to ease of dosing. Telmisartan & Rosuvastatin are the lastest drugs among blood pressure and blood cholesterol-lowering drugs, having minimal side effects & more beneficial effects on a patient. Telmisartan lowers blood pressure by blocking switches/receptors of Angiotensin-Converting Enzyme II which is responsible for narrowing the blood vessels and increase blood pressure. Rosuvastatin, on the other hand, acts by blocking an enzyme in liver called HMG CoA reductase responsible for the formation of cholesterol in high levels.
