Telmikind 40 tablet is a blood pressure-lowering medicine. Telmikind 40 tablet is used for the treatment of high blood pressure. It contains telmisartan as an active ingredient. Telmikind 40 tablet works by blocking the action of natural substances responsible for narrowing of blood vessels and helps to reduce pressure inside blood vessels and allows the heart to pump efficiently. Telmikind 40 must not be used during pregnancy. If pregnancy is detected, treatment must be discontinued. High blood pressure is a critical health condition if not treated well can affect other organs of the body. Contraindications of Telmikind 40 MG

If you are allergic to telmisartan or any other ingredients of Telmikind 40 tablet.

If you have blockage of any duct that carries bile from the liver to the gallbladder (obstructive biliary disorders).
If you are in the second or third trimesters of pregnancy.

Other General Warnings

Talk to your doctor if
You have kidney disease or had a kidney transplant or liver disease.
You have a narrow or block in the blood vessels of one or both kidneys.
You are having diarrhoea, vomiting as this causes dehydration and lead to low blood pressure. Consume plenty of water and fluids.
You suffer from water and salt retention in the body along with an imbalance of blood minerals (raised aldosterone levels).
You have an increased level of potassium in the blood.
You are diabetic, have a low blood pressure problem (hypotension) or heart disorder.
You are taking blood pressure-lowering medicines like ramipril or lisinopril.

How Does It Work?
Angiotensin II is a substance produced in the body which causes the narrowing of blood vessels. This leads to an increase in blood pressure. Telmikind 40 prevents the binding of Angiotensin II to its receptors, thus causing the blood vessels to relax and lowers the blood pressure.

Directions for Use of Telmikind 40 MG

Telmikind 40 must be taken as a whole with a glass of water, as directed by the doctor. You must take it at the same time every day for better blood pressure control.

Interactions with other medicines
Certain medicines can affect the way Telmikind 40 medicine works or Telmikind 40 itself reduces the effectiveness of other medicines taken at the same time. Dosage of Telmikind 40 MG

Overdose
Symptoms of overdose may include irregular heartbeat, dizziness, low blood pressure, kidney failure and loss of consciousness. Seek emergency medical help if you experience any of the side effects or think you have taken too much of Telmikind 40 tablet.
Missed a Dose
If you missed any dose of Telmikind 40 tablet, take it as soon as you remember. If it is time for the next dose, skip the missed dose and continue your regular dosing schedule. Do not take a double dose of medicine to compensate for the missed one.
